Chapter 36

Felix's movement had caused the elevator to stumble. Apparently someone had tampered with the elevator from above. As soon as Felix got out, Lee Know and Han had him.

Han let out a choked cry when the elevator stumbled again, leaving barely any space for Hyunjin to get through.

A/N: Let's pretend this is how the rescue works because I don't know a thing about it.

Hyunjin held onto the rope as the rescue team bickered. Felix and Han were crying and Lee Know was going to burst with anger. The elevator stumbled again, causing horrible loud creaking noises. Hyunjin covered his ears.

"Not the time Jinnie." Hyunjin thought to himself.

Loud noises had been bothering Hyunjin for a while now, which should be normal with how much his father hit him and shouted. But now was not the time to get distracted by it.

In a while they managed to stabilise the elevator, but there was no way Hyunjin could get through. The gap was too small. They'd either have to cut a part of the top of the elevator, or let it slide down to the floor below.

Hyunjin was feeling dizzy. The loud noises and the sudden panic making him feel sick. Hyunjin hadn't realised that before letting Felix out, Hyunjin wasn't scared, not for himself at least. But as soon as Felix was out, Hyunjin felt like he was on an edge of a panic attack.

The elevator stumbled again, despite the rescue team saying that it was stable. The cables broke and the elevator jolted, sliding down fast. It was so sudden that Hyunjin hit the top of the elevator and fell down again when the elevator stopped.

Felix was screaming. This couldn't be happening. The rescue team went downstairs and sent someone upstairs as well, to see the source of disruption.

Hyunjin groaned as he turned on his back, laying on the floor. The light of the elevator had gone out, and it was utterly dark. Hyunjin shuddered. It was cold too. His head throbbed and Hyunjin soon realised that his head was bleeding. Hyunjin took a deep breath, or at least tried too. 

He could've said that his vision went black, but it was already dark.

Hyunjin closed his eyes, just a little rest, and then he'd get up. 

He couldn't die here, his father would go after Han, and Lee Know, and Felix.

Hyunjin eyes shot open, when he heard a scream. It was Felix. Hyunjin smiled to himself, Felix was safe. His smile faltered when he realised that Felix was screaming his name. Hyunjin looked up, and saw a light, or rather, a light source. It was so bright. 

Hyunjin wanted to close his eyes and fall asleep. Finally, he could rest. His body felt like it'd float away and he felt at peace. He felt comforted.

"Hyunjinah!" Felix screamed among the others. They had to rely on Hyunjin to get up so they could get him out, but Hyunjin had passed out. They were running out of options. Han was sobbing and clutching on to Lee Know's hoodie. Lee Know was trying to comfort and hold back both Han and Felix, all while trying to stay calm himself.

Felix pulled himself away from Lee Know and slid to the small opening to the elevator. Felix took a deep breath and said, loud and clear, "Hyunjinah, get up, I need you."

No answer.

"Hyunjinah, I love you, please, open your eyes."

Hyunjin gasped and opened his eyes. His eyes locked onto Felix, and his body felt nothing but pain. Hyunjin groaned and stood up, reaching his hand up, to somehow reach Felix. Felix reached down, and their hands met. 

Felix used all his strength and pulled. The rescue team helped as well, and Hyunjin was out of the elevator. Hyunjin immediately fell into Felix's arms, who pulled him back and sat on the floor, stroking his back. 

Han and Lee Know skidded to them and pulled Hyunjin in a hug. The paramedics seperated them and started looking over Hyunjin's injuries.

Hyunjin's head was bleeding, and he had a small concussion. Other than that, he had cuts and scratches over his body, some of which might scar.

Lee Know wanted to drive them all home, but instead, he told Han to go with Felix and Hyunjin to the hospital. Han looked at Lee Know confused, and Lee Know said, "I have something I need to finish." Han nodded hesitantly and left with the paramedics.

Lee Know took the stairwell and ran upstairs, where there were still two rescue workers trying to figure out who tampered with the elevator cables, and how?

Lee Know stood there and took in his surroundings, his eyes narrowing at a bullet casing on the floor. Lee Know walked forward, and found, none other than Min Joon, hiding in a corner.

Lee Know clenched his fists, one rescue worker stared at Lee Know in confusion, his eyes widening at the bullet casing on the floor. Lee Know walked forward, grabbed Min Joon by his shoulder, and punched him in his jaw. 

The rescue worker walked forward cautiously, freezing as he saw Lee Know punch Min Joon, over and over.

Lee Know stopped for a moment and seethed, "Did I not tell you to stay away from my friends?" Min Joon laughed, "If Hyunjin can't be mine, the no one will have him." Lee Know smirked, "And I thought you were clever."

Lee Know punched him one more time, getting pulled away from a cowering Min Joon by the rescue men. Min Joon spit out blood from his mouth and groaned when he realised that Lee know broke out a tooth from his mouth.

The police were called, Min Joon was taken, and lee know wasn't charged. Min joon shouted, "You broke my teeth!" 

Lee know stood up saying, "As promised." and walked away.
