Telly (hey doll)
---------------------------------------------
There was a half full glass of red wine in between Riley's long fingers as he had his back towards me making some fancy mystery dish for me. "I can't believe no one has cooked for you before." He said over the sound of sizzling.

"No one has bothered to." I shrugged and swished around my own glass of the dark liquid. Riley was smart and pretty much kicked out his family for one night with a friend. "What are you making?"

"Uh something Italian." Riley searched through the contents of all the drawers and pulled out a wooden spatula before turning back to the pan and pushed around what looked like sausage slices.

"Wait you have no idea what it is that you're making?"

"I've seen my mom make it plenty of times. I just don't know what it's called but trust me it'll be good." I brought my own glass of wine up to my lips and took a sip.

"Please be carefully Riley. Don't bun or cut or injure yourself." My eyes went wide as he pulled out a large shiny knife and cut green spices on the wooden cutboard quickly.

"Trust me Telly Allegria I know what I'm doing."

"You don't have to say my full name." I rolled my eyes and he looked up from the green herbs with the most intricate grey eyes. They were so grey and so gold at the same time. So truly Riley. He smiled then finished cutting the greens.

"And why not. I think your full name is pretty." He picked up the cutting board before dumping them into the pan as well. He picked up his wine glass again and took another drink. I looked at my phone screen waiting for Remie to text me after the little Dr.Phil session. "Okay this is getting kinda boring." He then picked up a small black remote and waved it I'm te air before pressing a button. So apparently his house is really big and grand and there are speakers within the walls that started to play John Mayer songs. "I hope you like John Mayer."

"I absolutely have a die hard passion for him." I nodded and took another sip of my wine. I really didn't wanna forget this. I was so at ease and relaxed and not bothered with so called "family drama." Riley nodded before turning one of the burners on and placed a big pot of water on it before dumping a handful of salt into it. "How long did it take you to figure out this not date."

"So I was actually planning on doing this for you on my way home when we went to see Wicked. I didn't call you because I was trying to figure out what exactly I should make for you. Then Ridley was eating pizza and I hatched the perfect idea to make you Italian food. Which I should've thought of all along."

"Why? Are you Italian?"

"And French. And Irish. And British. But mainly Italian." He turned back to me and picked up a silver jar, twisted the kid and jumped the weirdly shaped pasta in the bubbly hot water.

"How many girls have you done this for?"

"Only you and Rid. And I only did that for her because she was sick." He shrugged and turned back to me while leaning against the granite countertop and placing his chin in his hands. Then I took another sip of the red wine. I'm not really a fan of it but it was actually really good. "Ah ah ah Miss Allegria. I'm going to need some ID when consuming an alcoholic beverage." Riley rose his eyebrows and his signature goofy smile was smeared across his face. I rolled my eyes and took another gulp.

"No you don't."

"You really think that's gonna work."

"I was trying the compulsion thing on The Vampire Diaries."

"God not you too. Ridley watches it all the damn time. Literally you go on Netflix and check her history and it's all The Vampire Diaries. I don't even think she still cares about Adventure Time."

"Um why Adventure Time."

"She's a big Adventure Time enthusiast."

"Oh that's funny. My friend Jase likes it too. He's such a little kid." I shook my head at his immature ways. "But we love him for it anyway."

"Jase huh?" I nodded and he pushed on the counter and turned around. He turned one of the burners completely off and then another one on. I sat up straighter trying to see over his broad shoulders even though that was damn near impossible. "Tell me about him." He called over his shoulder still concentrating on what was in the shallow pan and sauce pan.

"Jase has been my best friend ever since I was little. Besides my blood family, Jase was the first person I met. He's really dumb but smart at the same time. And I swear he was going through a transgender phase for a while, but everyone says that he's a transgender." I shrugged and rested my chin in my hands.

"Well is he?"

"No. Jase is straight. He just acts like a girl sometimes that's all. I think that's why we get along so well. Are you sure you don't want any help?" I started to stand from the barstool offering to help when my phone started to ring. "Oh hold on." I pulled it out from my cross body purse and read the ID. Jase. I felt my face twisted in confusion because Jase and I haven't talked in a while. My thumb hovered over the decline button because it was probably nothing too serious, but Jase doesn't waste time on stupid shit.

"Is everything okay?"

"Yeah I just need to take this one." I answered it, pressed my phone to my ear and made my way to the front door. "Jase. Is everything okay?"

"Obviously not if I called you." I could practically hear his eye roll through the line but he was quiet for once which scared me. Jase was always loud. "Listen I need you to get to the hospital ASAP."

"I-uh. I can't right now. I'm kinda in the middle of something."

"Well can you please get to the end of this something. We have a serious emergency on our hands." Jase hissed and I could sense the urgency behind his voice. I knew he was trying to keep his calm but any minute he would explode.

"What's wrong?"

"Jessa got in a car accident. A bad one. "

"Do you have all the details?"

"She's unconscious right now. The doctors won't let me in to see her. I just need you to get over here now."

"How did she get into it?"

"Her and Logan were drinking. And somewhere along the way, they started fighting and I guess Jessa left but she got into the car accident."

"Okay I will get there as soon as I can. Keep me updated okay?"

"Sure just get here soon." And then the line went dead. I ran a hand through my hair and took a deep breath before returning to Riley.

"Hey I uh. I have to run I'm sorry."

"Aww bummer. I just finished."

"I'm sorry it's an emergency. I seriously need to go."

"Okay well at least get a bite and take a plate for the road." He winked at me then held a steaming fork to my lips forcing whatever he made into my mouth. "Good huh?" I nodded and made the smallest of moans. "Almost good enough to make you want to stay?" He rose his eyebrows.

"I'm so sorry Riley. Honestly I was having a really good time and then this came up and-"

"It's okay." He tucked the stray piece of hair behind my ears, his fingers lingering on my shoulder. I felt my cheeks heat up. " Take one for the road." He convinced me before turning back and grabbing a large bowl and scooping the food into it. He opened a drawer pulling out foil to cover the top of it with.

"Thank you Riley. I'm really sorry this non date thing got cut short."

"It's okay Telly. Just call when everything gets settled."

"I definitely will." And with that, I let myself out of his house and hauled ass to the hospital. Hopefully everything will end up to be okay like he said it would.
