To me, rooftops always have some significance in any story. Except for ours. "It's too bad you can't get drunk up here again."

"It's too bad that you won't let me get drunk again." She squeezed my hand and stepped out onto the roof patio carefully for she had a habit of tripping over flat surfaces.

"That's because it isn't good for you."

"Yet you fall asleep surrounded by bottles after bottles of beer." Telly placed her other hand on her hip and looked at me disappointedly.

"Yeah but I'm older and heavier than you and I have a high tolerance for alcohol whereas you don't." I poked her nose and walked over to the furnished edge of the building. I looked out to the skyline where the sunset was a golden-pinkish kind of colour.

"Whatever." She shook her head and leaned over as well looking out to the busy city streets. Her knee brushed against mine lightly. "I can't believe that we are dumb enough to leave this place behind." She sighed out and ran a hand through her hair.

"No. Maybe we are smart enough to leave Seattle." I smiled at her. "No more rain all the time right."

"Yeah but New Yorkers are jerks." Telly scrunched up her nose in disapproval and shook her head. "Of all the other cities in America,we had to pick New York."

"Be grateful. If we chose somewhere else I highly doubt that Emmett would be so willing to help us out." I shrugged and bumped my elbow with hers.

"Point taken." She reconsidered. "I'm going to miss all of this." She sighed again. There was a light breeze that surrounded us and it danced throughout her long silky hair and I couldn't stop staring at her. I knew that it was rude to be examining one so hard for so long but I just couldn't notice how beautiful that Telly really was. "You're staring again."

"Is it a crime to look at something that I think is absolutely beautiful?"

"No."

"Then why does it matter."

"I guess it doesn't." She shrugged again and looked down to the cars going through lights and couples holding hands as they giggled together. "What do you think Manhattan is like?"

"It's just like here without all the rain." Which was true. Seattle was notorious for raining all the time. I didn't know why anyone wanted to live here. There was never a full 24 hour period of sunshine. I looked up to the sky noticing the dark grey storm clouds rolling in hinting to rain later tonight and possibly all day tomorrow.

I looked over to Telly again, watching her watch all the life going on below us. "I love you."

She looked over to me with her big blue eyes. Then she nodded and opened her mouth to say something but it seemed as though she was mute. Until a few seconds passed. "I love you too." She squeaked out and tied our fingers together. And I watched her bite her lip softly.

And then I leaned in hoping to do something reckless like kiss her. And she leaned in as well. And I have never felt so close yet so far away from someone that I loved.

But then.

I felt a hand pull me away from Telly. "I have been looking everywhere for you guys." Remie shrieked. "I told you guys not to wander around. Stop making out, we gotta go like ASAP!"

"Wait where are we going?" Telly's cheeks were pink but she looked back and forth between me and Rem anyway.

Then I smiled gently even though Remie was beyond pissed at the both of us. And Telly looked genuinely curious and confused. And then I smiled brighter. "Just come on." Remie pulled us along.

"I'm not going anywhere until somebody tells me where the hell I'm going."

"We are going to something that is very important to all 3 of us. Does that answer your question Telly?" Remie huffed out and whirled around looking both of us in the eye.

"No. It doesn't."

"You'll know when we get there." And that was that.

(don't waste your time on me, you're already the voice inside my head. i miss you i miss you)
