Telly (oh)

----------------------------------------------------

"Did you find anything yet?" I called out to Remie as an itchy sequined sweater clawed at my skin mercilessly. There was a whole other pile of clothes that I had to try on just waitinf to be accepted or rejected.

"No, I can't find anything in my size that I actually like." She sighed in defeat and I could picture her tugging at her freshly cut hair. (She demanded that she wanted short hair because the struggle of having long hair is real, which I totally agree with her.)

"I think that's because a triple zero doesn't exist." I rolled my eyes and looked to the bordered mirror deciding whether or not I like the sequined cat sweater. The price tag screamed in angry bold red letters $14.50. I shrugged because I had nothing to lose and because it was so cute.

"Says the girl with a 28 inch waist. Oh wait, I've found it." She declared and squealed triumphantly as if she was winning a car. "Move over in there. I have to get this even if it doesn't fit." Remie opened the curtain just enough for her to slide in with ease. And when she looked at me, her jaw fell to the floor. "Tell-"

"I like it. And everything fits."

"Well so do I!" Her eyebrows scrunched together.

"Whatever, I like it so I'm getting it." I shrugged again and unbuckled the belt that circled my waist tightly.

"So you told me that there was something important you had to tell me. I'm still waiting doll." Remie started unbuttoning the denim blouse she was wearing after tying her hair into a bun on the top of her head with no effort.

"Logan won't be coming to Manhattan with me." I sighed trying to eradicate the sting that sliced through my chest with no mercy. I was still trying to convince myself that what he said was a lie. Even if he was telling the truth, I shouldn't care.

"What? Why not?" Remie looked at me with confusion spread across her face. She wasn't even trying to hide her disappointment. She really had high hopes for the both of us getting out of Seattle, now that was destroyed.

"Let's just say that Jess isn't the only one he fights with."

"Oh no. You didn't get drunk too, did you?"

"Logan won't let me get drunk. Not while we're around each other anyway." I shrugged and wiggled into a pair of studded skinny jeans. "Him and Jessa weren't even drunk. He lied."

"But he was-"

"Logan is an actor."

"Well this wouldn't be the first time he's lied. Can you zip me?" Rem turned her back to me and I pulled the zipper up the track of the scandalous red dress that was way too tight in the hips. "How do I look?"

"Slutty."

"Gee thanks." She rolled her eyes and I looked in the mirror. "Not everyone can dress like you Sister Mary Telly. Anyway, so Logan isn't going to Manhattan anymore blah, blah, what else happened."

"He loves Jessa." I hiccupped and fiddled with the buttons on the soft flannel that was covering my body.

"Bullshit." She laughed. "Hell would freeze over before Logan said he loved Jess. He probably only meant that he loves her blow jobs."

"Well then we're all damned because he said it. Jess is in the hospital because he said my name when she was giving him a blow job. That's why they were fighting."

"See. At least we know that he's thinking of you when he's with her." Remie rose her eyebrows trying to make this better.

"Yeah right." I rolled my eyes again. "I'm getting this outfit too."

"But you have tons of flannels."

"Yeah but I don't have a turquoise one." I shrugged and wiggled out of the jeans, picking up another skirt that was drafted along with the piles of clothes spilling out of the mesh shopping bags.

"how do you get ready for dates with this shit?" She picked up a silky scarf and rubbed it in between her fingers before wrapping it around her neck and frowning.

"You tell me."

"So, you found all of this out how?"

"Because I wanted his dick."

"Well damn, I could've never guessed." She rolled her eyes. "Do you know how many times you've told me that?"

"I'm being serious this time though. I was horny and the rest is history."

"So basically you started making out with him and then what happened?"

"He stopped me and then we were fighting and that's when he told me that he loved Jess."

"Lies."

"Not lies, he said her full name."

"Jessamine?"

"Yeah. Up until then, I didn't even know that was her legal name."

"Well damn you must be dumb."

"Tell me something I don't know." I rolled my eyes once more and changed back into my regular clothes waiting for Remie to get out of the slutty red dress.

"She got out of the hospital last night."

"Great." I said sarcastically and picked up the mesh shopping back preparing to buy every article of clothing.

"She's going back to LA to get the rest of her stuff. I think she'll be staying for good. And maybe that's a good thing."

"How could that possibly be a good thing?" I threw my hands in my hair frustratedly. "I thought you wanted him and I to be together."

"I do, but the thing is, both you and him are young and deserve to go out with new and different. Logan understands that and so does she. The both of them want to be reckless but they also want to be loved. That's why they sleep together." She shrugged like it was nothing.

"Okay, but there are other ways to be loved."

"Yeah but it's with commitment, they don't want any strings attached." She shrugged like it was no big deal. "Why let it bother you?"

"You know why."

"Unfortunately, I do."

(this summers gonna hurt like a mother bad word, woo-hoo bad word woo-hoo aye. xxx.)
