Travis's POV"Taylor we're gonna be late!" I scream from the bottom of the staircase.
"Hold on! Give me another minute!" I hear her yell back.
"This girl.." I mutter to myself pulling out my phone and sitting on the couch.
'10 years ago today' I see the notification banner come down on my screen. I click on it and see a picture of me and Taylor 10 years ago on her birthday. We have been best friends since we were juniors in high school. I save the photo back to my phone and send it to Taylor.
"Cute picture." She says a few minutes later walking down the stairs and crossing through the living room.
"Can you believe that was 10 years ago?" She says making a funny face, "you look so much older." She says.
"Just me?" I ask putting a hand on my heart.
"Well I still look youthful." She simply states, flipping her hair over her shoulder and laughing.
"You know we've been friends for 18 years already?" I ask her opening the front door for her.
"I think we have to do something special for 20 years, like um... Skydiving or whatever." She says hitting my arm as we walk to the car.
"You are something else." I shake my head, walking in front of her to open the passenger door.
"Thank you sir." She says in an English accent.
"My pleasure madam." I say repeating the English accent and bowing once she's gotten settled in her seat.
She reaches forward and slams the door shut in my face and sticking out her tongue.
I walk around and get into the drivers side.
We talk about her plans for the big 34 as we drive to the highly secure rooftop bar downtown.
We get inside and I go to the bar and get her a drink.
"Here ya go." I say setting her drink down in front of her.
"Thanks." She whispers with a smile.
"Oh and, happy birthday." I say even though I had been the first to tell her at 12:01 am.
She shakes her head smiling and takes a big gulp of her drink.
I had planned this whole party for her with the major help of her girlfriends, Blake and Selena.
"You know a normal best friend wouldn't go this all out for their friends 34th birthday." Blake says leaning against the wall next to me as I watch the party thrive.
"...Especially a boy best friend." She adds on turning a head to look at me.
"What are you saying Blake?" I ask her.
"I'm saying that I think you maybe have feelings other than friendship towards Taylor." Blake says. Me and Taylor got this question a lot, of course it's expected when it's a boy-girl friendship but we never let it bother us.
"I just like to do things for my friends, acts of appreciation." I say.
"Then how come this whole conversation you haven't taken your eyes off her?" Blake says and pushes herself off the wall to go party.
I don't love Taylor— well I do just not like that, I love her personality and how she's kind and how she's so down to earth... and her smile, and her hair, and the way she's a natural lover of everything.. but like, I don't love her that kind of way.
Or maybe I do...
Taylor's POV
"Hey what's your name." I ask the mystery man that's been dancing with me all night.
