A Dash Of Jealousy

Zatz watches as the third warrior is found, and he has... some thoughts.

Zatz had been following Maya around for the majority of her quest, watching as she got closer to her goal.

She had initially turned down his offer to join his quest, but he still intended to ask her once more. Having someone as powerful as Maya as an ally would benefit both of them.

It didn't take a genius to figure out that there was tension between them. Even when Maya was snappy and berating Zatz, he could feel a tension between them, and he knew she felt it, too.

Zatz had been smitten with Maya since his first face to face encounter with her. Truth be told, he hadn't felt that since... Acat.

Which was why the sight before him now twisted him into the tightest knot imaginable.

He had been glad when Maya had found the Puma warrior for her journey... until Picchu took off his shirt, that is.

The moment Maya and Chimi saw Picchu's chest, it seemed as though they were stuck in a trance, even Chimi calling his chest "impressive."

All Zatz could do was watch, leaning against a large tree as he and Colmillo hid in from their view. He was fiddling with a twig, his eyes narrowed and teeth clenched.

"I mean, yeah." Zatz scoffed, "He's a great warrior, but... he's not all that, right? It takes more than strength to be a great warrior."

Colmillo softly growled as he nudged Zatz with his boney tail.

"Hey, hey, I'm not jealous. I-I'm just telling the truth. Besides, I'm at least better looking than him. Right?"

Picchu had agreed to go with them and was now taking a shower.

With the group watching.

In all his muscular glory.

Zatz heard Rico comment on how long the shower was taking, to which Maya replied, "He seems fine to me."

This made Zatz growl in rage as he snapped the twig in his hands.

Colmillo nudged Zatz a little harder, growling softly.

Zatz took a deep breath, his anger melting away, "No, no. You're right. That's not important. We need to keep an eye on them, and we need Maya to join us. I'm still better looking, right?"

Colmillo snarled, annoyed.

"Ok, ok, I get it. Let's go."

Zatz climbed on Colmillo's back, going back to the Underworld to regroup. Zatz would track them down again later to ask Maya to join his quest. He should also confront her intentions while he's at it.

Zatz had to remind himself to not let his personal feelings get in the way of what really mattered. Picchu is a great warrior and is vital to Maya's quest.

Besides, he seemed to be more into Chimi, anyway.
