Tezcatlipoca visits Chaska and cheers up Zatz after a tough day.

When Micte returned Zatz home, she told Camazotz that she saw Hura and Can tormenting his son. The bat god thanked her for bringing Zatz home and tried to comfort him. While his reassurance helped a little bit, Zatz was still quite shaken by the taunts. Camazotz decided that Zatz should have some space for himself, so he dropped Zatz off at Chaska's home to spend the night.

Chaska stroked Zatz’s hair, his head in her lap as he stroked her tail, "Don't worry, mijo. You'll get your powers before you know it."

"But what if I don't?" Zatz quietly asked.

"That's very unlikely. You may be half mortal, but you're still half god. Don't underestimate our power."

Chaska's ears twitched at the sound of tapping. Looking around, she saw nothing, but after sniffing the air, she smelled a god.

"What is it?" Zatz asked.

"An intruder." Chaska became more alert. She stood up and got into a fighting stance, spear in hand, "Get behind me, Zatz." Estrella stood by her side, his teeth bared as he growled.

As they looked around, they saw nothing, but they knew someone was there. Chaska almost thought the scent was… familiar.

She turned around-

"BAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!"

Chaska was startled, but quickly saw who the intruder was. Tezcatlipoca, floating upside-down and making the most ridiculous face.

"How was that?" Tezcatlipoca asked, floating to the ground, "Were you scared?"

Chaska kicked him in the chest, pointing her spear in his face while Estrella growled, "What are you doing here? How did you get in here?"

"Relax, puppy." Tezcatlipoca said, standing up, "I was in the area and I wanted to see how my favorite crazy dog lady was doing. And believe it or not, I have quite the memory. I could've knocked, but I wanted to have fun. You should’ve seen the look on your face."

Chaska grunted as she lowered her spear, "Can't say I'm happy to see you."

"Ouch."

Tezcatlipoca looked down to see Zatz hiding behind Chaska's legs and gripping her tail.

"Oh, I remember him. He’s Camazotz's kid, right?"

"Yes." Chaska said.

Tezcatlipoca kneeled down to Zatz’s level, "And what's your name, little guy?"

Zatz said nothing, stepping closer to Chaska.

"His name is Zatz." Chaska answered for him, "You'll have to forgive him. Some gods tormented him today for not having powers."

"I see.”

Chaska sighed and asked Zatz, "Zatzy, have you eaten?" He shook his head, "I'll go get dinner started, then."

"Ah, a dinner date." Tezcatlipoca said, standing up, "Not what I had in mind, but this works." Chaska pinched his shoulder, "Ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow, ow!"

"Not for you." Chaska said, going to the next room, "Estrella, keep an eye on them."

Estrella nodded and growled at Tezcatlipoca as he got in front of Zatz.

“Oh, relax, would you, canine?” Tezcatlipoca said.

Estrella narrowed his eyes as he laid down. Zatz sat down next to him, snuggling into Estrella’s soft fur.
