When Maya finds herself in danger, Zatz rushes to save her before it's too late.

Zatz and Maya have been busy with their celestial duties and have hardly had time for themselves. They decided to meet up in the mortal realm when they were done raising and setting the sun and moon to spend time with each other.

When Maya was done setting the sun, she made her way to the spot where she and Zatz were supposed to meet, while Zatz finished raising the moon.

While she was flying to the meet up spot, she heard someone scream.

Something was wrong.

Maya flew down into the forest where she heard the scream, transforming back into her god form. From the treetops, she saw a man in dark armor pointing a sword to a girl, no more than twelve, cowering on the ground.

"I-I promise, you'll get it…" The girl whimpered, "But we need more time."

"My patience has already run out." The man said, stalking closer to the girl.

Maya gritted her teeth at the sight. She couldn't leave this alone, she had to help that girl.

"Hey!"

Maya swooped down to the man and the girl, revealing herself to them. Their eyes grew wide at the sight of her, they knew she was a goddess.

"Let her go." Maya demanded.

"My lady, her family has a debt to be paid." The man said, "I am merely going through with my threat for not complying."

"I'm sure there's a way to figure this out. No one needs to-"

"They have wasted enough of my time." The man turned to the girl, raising his sword, "They need to be taught a lesson."

Before the man could do anything, Maya summoned Eagle Claw, and charged at the man, knocking him away from the girl.

"Go to your family." Maya whispered, helping up the girl, "Run and never look back."

The girl tearfully bowed at Maya before running away.

"Who do you think you are?!" The man snarled.

"I am Princess Maya! Teca Eagle warrior and goddess of the sun!" Maya said.

"You have made a great mistake!" The man snarled, raising his sword, "Now you will pay!"

Maya gripped Eagle Claw tighter, I'd like to see you try."

The man charged towards Maya, clashing their weapons together, starting the fight.

They got a few hits on each other, but no serious damage was made, except for a few trees and rocks being destroyed.

Maya was knocked to the ground and she could see the man running away from her. She gritted her teeth as she got up, chasing after him. She wasn't going to finish the fight like this.

...

After Zatz finished raising the moon, he went straight to the spot where he and Maya were supposed to meet. When he saw she wasn't there, he decided to wait for her.

He didn't know how much time had passed, but he had a nagging feeling that something was wrong. She usually wasn't this late for anything. He went to look for Maya. She shouldn't be too far.

Zatz flew down to a particular spot in the forest that caught his eye. It looked like a battle had taken place with broken tree branches and rocks everywhere. It was a mess.

"What happened here?" Zatz asked.

His foot kicked something. When he looked down, he gasped in shock.
