Chaska tells Maya a story that Zatz would rather forget.

Zatz and Maya were visiting Chaska for the day. While Chaska wasn't hiding from Mictlan anymore, her hiding spot had become her home. She couldn't just abandon it.

They had spent the day sharing stories, experiences, and laughs.

"Do you think you have all of your powers, Maya?" Chaska asked, pouring the three of them drinks.

"Well, as far as I know, yeah." Maya said, "Why, do you think I don't have enough?"

"It's not that." Zatz said, "It's just that normally, for a god, powers come at a young age, which isn't the case for you. There's still the possibility that you'd get new powers."

"Hm. I'd say I'm content with the powers I already have. Although, I wouldn't complain if I got more."

"It could happen." Chaska said, handing out their cups, "But I think the chances are unlikely."

"Oh. Well, at least I don't have to learn how to control any more powers."

"You know, it's a shame you didn't get your powers as a child. It's such a wondrous experience the first time it happens."

"It really is." Zatz smiled.

"Learning how to control the power is what's tricky. It's funny what you try to tap into them."

"Hey, jumping doesn't work for me like it does for Zatz." Maya said, "That's not my fault."

"We all struggled with learning powers." Zatz said, "I'd say you learned pretty well compared to me."

"You can say that again." Chaska said, "Zatz tried so many ridiculous things to tap into his powers, especially when he first got them."

Zatz's eyes grew wide as he spat out his drink in shock. Oh, no...

"What do you mean?" Maya asked.

After taking a sip from her cup, Chaska said, "Zatz had just turned five when he first got his powers-"

"Chaska, please don't." Zatz begged.

"Oh, come on, it's a funny story. Maya would want to hear it."

"No, she doesn't!"

"Yes, I do!" Maya said, "Please, continue."

"No!" Zatz turned red, hiding his face in his hands, so he wouldn't have to look at his wife and aunt.

"As I was saying," Chaska continued, "Zatz was five when he first got his powers. Camazotz, Zatz and I were spending the day in the mortal realm taking a walk in the forest. All of a sudden, Zatz transformed into a little bat."

"Aw." Maya gushed. She looked at her husband, still covering his face, "I bet you were adorable."

"He was. He was so happy and we were so proud of him for his first power. You can imagine his disappointment when he transformed back."

Zatz groaned, shrinking further into himself, "Please don't do this."

Chaska ignored him as she continued, "We explained to him that he'd have to figure out how to tap into his powers. We didn't think much of it, but what he did next surprised all of us."

"What did he do?" Maya asked, becoming curious.

Zatz leapt from his seat to tackle Chaska to stop her from continuing the story, but Estrella tackled him, pinning him to the floor. He tried to push the large dog off him, but to no avail.

The two goddesses paid no mind to them.

"We turned away for a minute, but when we turned around, he was gone. Of course we were worried, but it didn't take long for us to hear him, so we started looking around the forest. During our search, we found his clothes scattered around."

"Stop!" Zatz strained from under Estrella.

"When we finally found Zatz, he was running around in the nude."

Maya and Chaska had burst into laughter. When Estrella finally got off Zatz, he didn't bother to get up from the floor, covering his bright red face in his hands.

"What was he doing?" Maya asked through her laughs.

"He said he was trying to become a bat again, saying that bats don't wear clothes." Chaska said, "We got him dressed again since it didn't work."

Maya was in stitches. She never thought Zatz, of all people, was capable of something so ridiculous.

"Ah, and I thought my attempts were bad." Maya wiped away a tear once she regained her composure.

"Will you ever let me live it down?" Zatz asked.

"Not really." Chaska said.

She got up from her seat and walked to her husband, crouching down to his level, "Well, I gotta hand it to you for being creative with your methods."

"Please don't make it sound better than it was." Zatz said, turning away from her.

"It's a shame it didn't work. Your transformation would be more interesting." Maya snickered at her joke, Zatz curling himself into a ball.

Maya leaned down, placing a soft kiss on his cheek, "You had a good laugh when I was learning my powers, so I'd say we're even."

"We're not even until I get an embarrassing story about you from your family." Zatz said, getting up from the floor, walking back to his seat.

When Maya processes what Zatz said, her eyes grew wide as she got up, following him, "Wait, that's not how that works."
