Chaska finds a true form as a goddess.

On the ground was a dead wolf. Her pack was being hunted and she sacrificed herself in order to save them. The pack managed to escape, but at the cost of her life.

“Ay, pobre loba.” Ah Puch approached the wolf, running a hand through her blood stained fur, “Your sacrifice will not be unnoticed.” She closed her eyes and placed both hands on the wolf.

The wolf grew in size and her body began to change. After a few seconds, the wolf's eyes snapped open as she inhaled sharply. She looked down at her body, which was a cross between wolf and human and began to hyperventilate

“Easy, my dear, Chaska.” Ah Puch said. The wolf looked at Ah Puch in horror, “We know you have questions. Why are you alive? Why have you changed?” The wolf whimpered and nodded.

“For saving your pack, you have been awarded as the goddess of wolves. You will live a new life with new strength. You are merely changing into your true self. Who that is is whatever you choose.” The wolf let out a confused whine.

Ah Puch chuckled, “We know you have questions.” She gently grabbed the wolf's clawed hands, “Answers we cannot give you know. You will must find them on your own. Your loyalty is why you were chosen, Chaska.”

The wolf slowly opened her mouth, “Cha… Ska.” She sounded out.

...

Chaska spent the next few months wandering the woods. She was constantly shifting into something that wasn't fully wolf or human or whatever she was. It was painful every time she transformed. She had no control over it.

What Ah Puch told her ran through her head. Find her true self? Whatever she chooses? What does that mean?

Chaska screamed in pain as her body contorted again. Her face was growing and her legs were burning. The pain lasted for a few seconds, but it felt agonizingly long. Once the pain subsided, she laid on the ground. Why didn't Ah Puch just let her die?

She slowly got up and staggered around, her head spinning. She tripped over her feet which sent her tumbling down a steep hill, hitting every rock and bump on the way down.

When she reached the bottom, she slammed into something large. Chaska felt herself being aggressively shoved away. When she regained herself, she saw what she ran into. A large purple monster with large teeth who was backing away from her with wide eyes.

Without a second thought, Chaska snarled and lunged at the monster. The two struggled and fought for a while before the monster finally pushed her off him and knocked her out with a large branch.

Camazotz panted, staring at the strange creature that attacked him. The longer he stared, the more questions he had about what it was. The body was long and covered in gray fur. Its hands and feet were paws and its face was… wolf-ish?

It clicked. This is a god. Their powers must be out of control. Camazotz debated with himself. On one hand, this god just attacked him unwarranted. But on the other hand, they clearly need help. First becoming a god is torture and they were no doubt going through the same thing.

Camazotz sighed in defeat and picked the god up, carrying them under his arm. He hoped he wasn't making a mistake.

...

Chaska slowly woke up to her head pounding. She tried to get up, but found her hands were tied behind her back. She opened her eyes and looked around in panic. She was in a cave with a fire set up and the same monster as before. The moment she saw him, she bared her teeth and growled.
