Healed Wounds

Camazotz panics when Zatz hurts himself.

Camazotz and Zatz were visiting Chaska one night. While Zatz ran around the room, Camazotz and Chaska talked. 

"Please, Camazotz." Chaska said, "At least consider what I'm saying."

"I hear you, but we've talked about this." Camazotz said, "It's too risky to hide."

"It's even riskier if you-"

Camazotz held up a hand, silencing Chaska. They both heard crying from down the hall. It was then they noticed that Zatz wasn't in the room. Camazotz and Chaska ran into the hall and saw Zatz crying on the ground. 

"¿Qué pasó, mijo?" Camazotz asked, helping up his son. He looked down and saw Zatz had skinned his knee.

"Oh, my- he's wounded!" The bat god panicked, "What do I do?! This has never happened before! Is he bleeding? Ah, of course, he's bleeding! We have to get him to the-"

Chaska bonked her brother in the head with the back of her spear, "Ay, relax. It's just a scrape, he'll be alright. There's no need to bring the healers into this."

"But what do I do, then? We can't just leave him like this." Camazotz picked up his son, bouncing him a little. 

Zatz had quieted down a little once he was in his father's arms. Camazotz noticed this and held him closer, rocking him back and forth. Soon, Zatz had calmed down, his cries reduced to whimpers.

"Do I have to say it?" Chaska smirked. 

Camazotz shook his head with a smile, "Yeah, yeah, you were right." He sat on the floor and whispered to his son, "It's ok, it's ok."

Estrella came over and sniffed Zatz. When he saw the injury, he licked the knee. The sensation of Estrella’s rough tongue on his skin made Zatz giggle. 

Chaska crouched down and licked Zatz’s cheek, making him laugh. Camazotz and Chaska smiled at the young boy as Camazotz told a story about Zyanya.
