A New Beginning

Chapter Seventeen

"Is anyone there? I can see you!! Wait..." Grumpy shouts through the peephole, wondering who it is

Rumple takes a deep breath, taking a step back as he looks around him. He doesn't know what to do. He thinks of a plan and risk himself to use magic to get in the cell. Rumple needs to find out what is going on and what\how he ended up in this place.

Rumpelstiltskin is determined to help Grumpy escape, but he has to be careful. He teleports himself into the cell, knowing that it's risky.

He tries to talk to Grumpy, despite his warnings and refusal.

"Shhh. Keep your voice down, the guards will hear you."

Grumpy stares at Rumple and can't believe he is here. He feels there is hope but is worried the police will keep looking for them all. Grumpy knows they never really got on but surprised he is here.

"What the hell happened? You need to tell me everything!" Rumple whisphered, feeling concerned

"I did something wrong.. This guy was winding me up about me being small then i got my AX and threatened him with it, he made me angry, so i got arrested" Grumpy explained

You pulled an AX out and threatened him?!" Rumpelstiltskin is pissed at Grumpy. He's thinking, "This idiot could ruin everything for all of us. If the cops realize that characters from stories are alive and walking among them, they could expose us all."

"You are an absolute moron. You were warned to keep your head down and stay out of trouble. But you couldn't keep your anger in check, could you? This real world has different rules than ours!" He glares at Grumpy.

"Sorry... I know I screwed up. I can't help it, I get mad pretty easily. But I don't want to cause any trouble for anyone else. I can keep my head down and just hide from the cops now, okay? I won't do anything dumb again." Grumpy lowers his head and glances away, ashamed.

"It might be too late now! What did the police say?" Rumple asked

"They think they know i'm not real, they're already looking into it and they know i'm not on the system. One of them wanted to execute me" Grumpy explains

Rumplestilskin's jaw drops in disbelief, and he feels dread in the pit of his stomach. "They wanted to execute you? They're talking about executing you, just because you're not on their system?! That's insane."

"I said the same! They're not stupid! They will look for all of us soon, i heard them talk about it and they know we're not real" Grumpy says in a panic tone

Rumplestilskin is getting really worried now. The cops know they're not real, and they want to hunt them all down...

"They're insane... We have to be really careful, and do everything we can to stay hidden" Rumplestilskin's tone shifts from anger to fear, because he's realizing how bad this could be for him and the rest of the fairy tale characters.

"I am so sorry. What do we do? I know everyone is enjoying their new life here and now i've ruined it..." Grumpy sighs deeply

Rumplestilskin tries to reassure him, but his heart isn't fully there. He knows the situation is bad... "Look.. Don't worry. It's not your fault, we'll figure this out. We just need to stay hidden, and play it smart.

Rumplestilskin sighs, and he has a look of concern on his face. "They're not going to find us if we're smart, and we'll find a way to distract them too. But we have to be careful."
