...across the bridge to Hyrule Castle. The flood had left the bridge clear and slick as they sprinted across. Ahead, Hyrule Castle towered up into the mountains, a dark air rising around the turrets.

Long before they would reach the turrets though, they would have to enter the castle itself. At present, that was no small task.

The castle gates stood closed as they approached, the sounds of fighting echoing out from the other side. Stopping in front of the bars of the gate, Link could see a massive Blin taking up the center of the castle's courtyard fighting fiercely against her attackers.

Parry was no small fighter, she towered over anything that crawled out of the castle. In her hands was a massive spiked bat, which swept over the stone with devastating effect to her enemies. Even still, she was hard pressed as more monsters streaming from the windows above the courtyard down to confront her.

"What in the world?" Impa asked as the group gathered at the gate.

"That's Parry, she's from Underborough," Link answered, pulling on the bars. They didn't budge and Link saw them wedged in stone, not locked.

"Groko, can you break through?" Zelda asked, already retreating a few steps to make room.

The goron clapped his hands together and began rubbing them quickly. "Oh, you bet, Princess!"

Once the others cleared out of the way, Groko rocked back on his heels before charging at the gate. He tumbled forward into a roll, gaining speed as flames propelled him forward.

Sparks flew as Groko met metal. He continued to roll forward, grinding harder in his spin. Flames lashed out around him, burning deeper into the gate hot enough to melt. Link watched the metal bend, warping further and further until finally they were rent in and Groko launched through.

Rolling at max speed, Groko racing around the courtyard. How he was able to aim himself, Link had no idea, but Groko missed Parry by a hair while taking out a row of monsters before he broke out of the curl, backhanding an imp into the wall of the castle.

As the rest of their group broke into the courtyard, Parry recognized Link. She had only a moment before she turned back to the monsters pouring out from above them, some of them clinging to the walls as they crawled out in mobs. She brought her bat down on another swarm of them.

"Hero! It's good to see ya!" she called, not stopping as she waded back into the fight.

Overhead, a rain of stones crashed into the attacking forces. Link looked up and saw Octan, his many arms holding him up on a column out of reach as he covered Parry's attacks. Beside him, lobbing great boulders was Darinus. The goron looked injured, and furious about it as he swung on a bokoblin who grew too close to him and Octan.

"Brother!" Groko shouted up, to which Darinus wearily waved in response before both returned to fight.

Link dove into battle beside Parry, attacking whatever was fast enough to dodge her bat. Behind him, he hard the gate grind shut again. When he looked back, he saw the metal curling back to straighten itself.

"That'll be Evira," Parry called, her weapon swiping over Link's head.

"The leader of Cleff?" Link asked, stabbing at an imp as it got too close.

"Aye!" Parry shouted, smacking her bat into three bokoblins as they leapt from the window.

Out of the corner of his eye, Link saw a Keaton in their fox form running along the lip of the castle, nearly the size of a wolf. Eight white tails trailed behind her as she dug her fangs into an imp and sent it flying over the edge. She pounced across to another ledge, pebbles scattering around her.
