...until a beast was left in its wake. Link was forced to step back as the massive boar's front legs fell to the ground. Legs might not have been accurate. The beast still had remnants of a humanoid in it; hand like appendages on its front legs, a long mane of bright red hair, and an amber glare filled with so much rage no actual creature could fathom.

Fragments of Ganondorf's armor still hung on the thing. His many gold dressings now dug into skin of the great monster. Slowly though, Link could see the chains being stretched thin, to break and fall to the ground as trinkets.

Two tusks as long as Link was tall reached out before the creature's jaw. A second smaller pair extended from its head between the tuffs of red mane, highlighting a head with no crown.

As Link stepped back again, it rocked back up onto its hooves, nearly quadruple Link's height in the position. A deep, ground shaking laugh rumbled their arena, the Sages' ritual now fullly enclosed around them. The light danced like firelight over the monster's gargantuan form, a long tail snaking behind it as it lowered itself back to all fours.

Finally enough space between them from his slow backsteps, Link stood his ground. He lowered himself into a ready stance, squaring himself as he stared back, his expression a thin line.

The beast stalked forward. Its long strides moved to close distance effectively enough, but Link was also concerned at how quickly it picked up speed. Nothing that big should have been able to move that fast.

Still, Link held his ground as it rushed closer and closer. He could feel the earth shake as it approached, the thundering here and above too loud to hear the chanting of the Sages, the form before him too big to see Zelda.

Ganon swung his tusk in towards Link, a strike to gouge. Even as the strike grew ever closer, Link remained still, his eyes locked ahead.

Then, at the last moment he could, he moved.

It was instinct that drove him forward, in its purest form. The truest he'd ever felt as he sent himself into motion once more.

Link sidestepped the tusk back in between, before vaulting himself up on the now lowered turn of the long bone spike. Smaller than Ganon could turn to strike at this size, Link dodged up along the tusk until he'd come parallel to Ganon's face.

Snapping out the clawshot, Link grappled onto the beast's mane, sword out before it. The blade scoured into Ganon's jaw even as it thrashed to throw Link off. Unmoved, Link continued his attacks until he felt the first budge in the clawshot's grip. He unclenched his grip on the trigger within it, dropping underneath Ganon's head as a clawed hand reached where he'd once been.

Running along beneath the monster, Link slashed at the ankles of the beast. Overhead, he could feel its heart rattle inside a rib cage large enough to hold a house. But before he could strike it, Ganon began to raise himself up and then tense to slam down.

Link rolled clear as the massive form crashed into the ground, sending fragments of the dais flying. Even as the stone shattered, light continued to expand out it, the ritual unbroken even without its carvings.

Dropping into another roll, Link ducked one of the clawed hands swiping overhead. So bent on Link, it didn't see the lights and singing crescendo.

Once more, the white gold chains sprang forth from the Sages. Two to a limb, they grappled Ganon and pulled it down. Dust flew in all directions as the beast cracked further into stone, before it began to press back against its bonds. The chains held as the Sages strained in their song but did not falter.
