...as he turned the corner towards the two Wardens hanging from the ceiling. His companions perked up when they saw him again, but Link was too busy concentrating on getting this temple cleared. He need to get to Endeavor, and fast. Who knew how much longer she might have.
"Yore," Link called, startling the bird to attention. After a moment, the hawk turned to face him. "As soon as we cleanse this place, I want you go find the Princess and get her to meet me in Kakariko. We need to find Endeavor."
He had no idea if the bird understood him. He doubted even more that he could channel any kind of speech through Yore as Endeavor did. But he needed to do something, and a hawk could move much faster than Link ever could to deliver that kind of news. He just wished he had a better idea where they would be going. But if anyone had seen Endeavor recently, it would have been Zelda and Impa.
Determined, Link launched an orb of magic at the Warden. He quickly turned the Warden towards the vines, clenched his hand, and sidestepped the ray that shortly followed.
The vines withdrew, shaking the whole building as they moved. But they didn't wither. Instead, they kept moving. Slowly, the vines tried working their way around the greenhouse, looking for another place to lie down, but nothing. Everywhere the vines reached, a Warden activated and blasted them away.
And as long as the vines were moving, the entire greenhouse kept shaking. Link braced on the Sage's Rod, losing control of the Warden in order to steady himself. He turned towards the forest dwellers as they struggled to guard the seed pod from falling debris. This needed to stop, or their Forest Sage was going to get hurt.
As the vine passed by again, Link managed to restore magic to the Warden, turning it away from the classroom's door. The building continued to rumble until the vines found their way back into its space within the back left corner of the building.
"What was that?" Wudhi asked.
"What didn't is die like the other ones?" Saruo inquired, floating up to the vine and giving it a hard kick.
Link looked around, wondering what happened. "The vine has to rest somewhere apparently."
"Again, why isn't it just dying?" Saruo repeated, floating over to him. "It should be dying, like all the other ones."
"I don't know why it isn't. All we know is that it isn't and since it's not, we need to move it somewhere else," Link answered, walking down the hall a bit. He stopped as he look over the Warden towards the door to the main chamber. "But we can't just move it randomly or the greenhouse will reset."
"What does that matter?" Wudhi chimed in. "With all due respect, Link, if we have the key, we can get into the main chamber just fine."
Link shook his head, gesturing for his companions to join him. The four made their way over, all collectively finding a way to look past the Warden towards the door to the main chamber. "Its trying to grow into the door," Mismawn stated. "Like it's going to eat it."
"Or merge with it," Saruo added. "Like that thing in the Lost Woods that took the seed pod."
"I think that's closer to it," Link replied. "If it consumes the magic of the temple though, things are going to go from bad to worse in a hurry. I've seen corrupted Sages. But the greenhouse running seems to get those vines from growing, keeping that plant from taking in all the magic here."
Kephe fumbled with his hands. "S-so, if we ke-keep the good plants alive, the b-bad ones won't grow?"
Link nodded. "We need to move that vine, without resetting the greenhouse entirely. Preferably at least. We can run back through and reset everything afterwards, I'm sure."
