...and out into the pale stone room that waited beyond. Link didn't know what kept the room lit, but he was grateful for it as he took in the lilac flames. It was a large round room, with Reechka's symbol carved into the floor. Two huge stone bodies draped their arms across the chamber, only their upper halves carved into the walls. Link had an uncomfortable feeling as he and his companions walked in, particularly about the two stone statues. The earth didn't like to sleep here.

"I came here once before."

All eyes fell on the white hair woman standing with her back to them. Zeal raised her head and turned to them, saying, "Before everything changed. Of course, our dear Goddess won't let me visit Her again. Seeing as it was I who betrayed Her to the reborn Demise. That would be means for a grudge, I suppose. She's not wrong. But I would do it again after all I lost."

Endeavor drew their sword. "You! You told the Demon Lord about Reechka's return! Do you not realize what that means? How could you? After all this place meant?"

"Oh, I know quite well what it means. More than you, child," Zeal said, leering back at Endeavor with particular interest. She added with a grin, "That's why I did it."

"What does that mean?" Link asked.

Before Endeavor could asnwer, Zeal replied as she began walking towards them. "They didn't tell you then? Oh, my dear, I'd think that would be fairly important, certainly to him." Endeavor's brows narrowed, sword still brandished as they put themself at the front of their trio. Journey stood growling beside her master, and Yore hovered overhead, waiting to attack.

Something jerked Link's head around. Link found himself looked straight into Zeal's eyes, her finger holding his head to. She said, "Since Endeavor didn't tell you, I suppose I should." She let go and began pacing around Link, suddenly more space around them than there had been to the others. Unsure how he'd been moved, he watched her as she walked. Zeal said, "Well, it's really quite simple. While it was your dear Goddess Hylia who imprisoned Demise, it wasn't said Goddess who weakened him. I'm sure you know the story of the lost Goddess by now, yes?"

Link nodded, tightening his grip on his sword. Zeal went on with her pacing and her talking, "So, naturally, the real one to blame for his defeat was Reechka. Now, why would Reechka, nearly successful is stopping a cycle before it could begin, allow Herself into banishment? Why would the other Goddesses decree it?"

Zeal suddenly appeared beside Link again, leaning on his shoulder. She asked, "Now, tell me, if you saw someone who had done you unspeakable wrong, you would want revenge on them, would you not? Well, perhaps not you, oh noblest of men, but ask your princess. Your dear guide even. You don't know the slightest about them really, now do you?"

Endeavor started to say something, but Zeal finished with a wave of her hand and a puff of magic to cut Endeavor off, "Simply put, of all the Goddesses, Demise would despise Reechka the most. She foiled his plans, diminished him to resorting to resurrection, and forms who don't remember their origins. That's right, like you and your princess, Ganondorf has no memory of his past lives. Only stories told of defeat, and you."

A blade materialized in her hand, pointed straight at Link. She shrugged, the sword moving away. Zeal continued, "But no matter, this isn't about you yet. Not until that sword of yours is found. Now, Ganondorf is another matter. Meeting a Drex, reawakening Reechka's battle with him in his first life, why, I'd say it's...rekindled some old power."

Zeal twirled her blade as she walked away. "See, now the odds have turned. Sir Ganondorf Dragmire is aware of his past lives, of his first life. My dear boy, when you face your foe this time, it won't just be the swordsmen you fought before. It will be, more than ever before, the reborn Demise waiting for you."
