...and of the grim reality set before them. Link woke to the sound of the sea, the first peaceful sleep he'd had in a long time. He and Lynard had gone out to sleep on Lynard's boat, the soothing rock of the deck easy Link's sleep and without dreams.

When he woke, he saw Lynard already up on the deck. A small cooking stove had been set up, on which Lynard was frying a pair of fish for their breakfast.

Link untangled himself from the hammock and joined Lynard. Before Link could sit down though, Lynard waved him off. "No time, we need to get moving."

Lynard rose with the help of his cane, before handing the two grilled fish to Link. He grabbed a bucket and put out the fire in the stove, before beckoning his grandson to follow.

The two left the ship and made their way through the docks. It was quiet this early in the morning, at least compared to the activity that had been through the camp the day before. Already there were signs of stirring as Link and Lynard made their way up the hill towards the outpost.

Too loud for the morning, a voice came in from overhead. "Look who the wake brought in, Sagi!"

Link looked up only to see two Rito coming in for a landing. Sagi and Taka cut off the path forward just as Link was finishing his breakfast.

"I was getting ready to take your place around here," Taka jibed, nudging Link as he folded in his wings.

"He was getting tired of being a messenger all day," Sagi corrected as he joined by Taka's side.

"Wasting our talent, Sagi. We're warriors, not mailmen," Taka bemoaned.

"You're loud is what you are," Lynard grumbled, throwing down his skewer into the dirt as he hurried to get past the two.

Not worried about catching up with his grandfather, Link walked with the Rito for a moment. Taka went on about their adventures since Skyloft, and it took Link a moment to realize it had been barely than week since then. Yet Taka went on about it as if it had been months. With how much Hyrule had changed in a week, it might as well have been.

As they neared the outpost, they were joined by more people. There were so many jobs to do in the camp, and everyone needed orders for that day now. They were divided, many refugees volunteering their work heading off for directions from knights posted around the outpost. Rixa was snapping out directions on a new series of constructions for the day as they entered the courtyard.

It was the smell that caught Link's attention first. It was hearty and warm, like a good hearth stew should be. The aromatics carried the furthest, followed by fish and potato and the meager amount of spice that could be put together in the camp.

Standing over the pot was Frostbar, with Freya close beside passing out bowls to laborers coming in for the day. At the sight of Link, Freya jumped up on the table and waved vigorously. It didn't take long for Frostbar to notice, and he gave a heavy-handed greeting as well before returning to his work.

"Mr. Hero!"

Link was nearly tackled by someone. As he took a second to rebalance, he realized it was someones. Wudhi, Mismawn, and Kephe had him trapped in a grapple, all talking over each other in excitement.

"It's good to see you to," Link said, moving to set Kephe down and look between them as they relented and backed up. They all beamed back at him, another torrent of conversation threatening to come out.

Across the yard, he saw a young girl skipping towards them. It took him a moment to recognize Tasma, fully awake and able to support herself. She stopped next to her Guardians and giggled. "Hello, Mr. Hero."
