After showering in the changing rooms, Pedri and I made our way outside again, where my friends and his brother were waiting for us to go to the official La Liga celebration party. I was so happy that my friends were in town and to be able to party a bit with them.

"Heard you put Manchester girl on the list for tonight" Pedri snickered as he sat on the passenger seat while me, Joan and Pablo were crammed on the back seats of his new Porsche, all getting driven by Fer.
"What? Already a new girl, Ferri?" Joan asked a bit surprised.
"She's not a new girl" I mumbled back.
"She's just a girl he's had a crush on for years" Pedri teased me and I slapped his shoulder.
"Show me her Instagram" Pablo said and I reluctantly pulled out my phone to show them Cata's profile. Which wasn't much, she only posted pictures from shoots, very little about her private life. Which drove me crazy on one hand, because I wanted to see what she was up to, but I admired on the other hand. So many girls were only seeking for attention, but she wasn't one of them - which only made me like her more.

"Dude, Sira was pretty, but this... she's out of your league" Pablo snickered, while Joan was silent, only looking at it. He was the more serious one of the two and by the looks of it, I was getting a speech as soon as we were alone. Which was exactly what happened as we stood in the rented club, all with drinks in hand, when he pulled me a bit aside.

"Ferri, what's going on? Your breakup just happened two weeks ago and you're already after a new girl?" he asked.
"It's not like that. We're friends..." I mumbled.
"Friends? Since when?" he asked, digging deeper.
"She's that one hookup I had back in Manchester, I told you about her... the virgin" I muttered and he nodded, signalling me to tell him more. "Nothing! She apparently moved to Barcelona and we met again. We only started talking more after the breakup. She came over two days ago, I'm tutoring her in Catalan" I told him, trying to stay as neutral as possible.

"She just randomly moved here, why?" he asked confusedly.
"I don't know, Joan! It seems like a delicate topic and I'm not going to push her!" I hissed at him, he was starting to annoy me.
"This all sounds very fishy" he mumbled.
"Chill, she didn't even know who I was in the beginning. She only found out when she started her job at the Barca store" I tried to calm him down, but instead, his eyes widened.
"So you're telling me she's only started talking to you after she found out you're a famous and rich footballer... Yeah totally not a fameseeker" he sighed.
"Shut up, you know nothing. You'll meet her when she's here and then you can paint yourself a picture instead of pulling up wild theories" I snarled and joined the group of the others that now included Eric and some of his friends, as well as Pedri and his brother.

We drank some cocktails, danced and had fun, but I searched the crowd every five minutes, waiting for Cata to finally show up. And then, I finally found her, she had apparently just arrived and was hugging her friend Sara, who shoved her away playfully as she pointed to where I, or better said, our group was standing. Our eyes met, and the world stood still for a second, until she was shaken by her friend and she buried her head in her hands. So cute. I saw that she was walking over, so I quickly asked Eric about the weather forecast for the next days, just to act occupied.

"MANCHESTER GIRL IS IN THE HOUSEEEE!" a tipsy Pedri shouted and I sent him a death glare. I had gathered that she didn't like that nickname at all.
"When will you stop calling me that?" she asked annoyedly.
"When I can call you Ferran's wif-" he started, but I quickly cut his stupid ass off.
"Heeeey!" I shouted, hoping that she hadn't heard the last word coming out of his mouth, stepping closer to hug her hello.
"Hi! Sorry for being late but... well, work" she chuckled nervously.
"Don't worry! Anyways, these are my friends Joan and Pablo, they're perfect victims for your Catalan practices" I told her and she extended her hand, which my friends shook. She apparently wasn't a first-time-we-meet-hugger, but seemingly more distant. They both shook her hands, Pablo looking like he had just seen the Madonna and Joan on the other hand, eyeing her suspiciously.

"You want something to drink?" I asked her, leaning a bit closer. I smelled her perfume and my, oh, my, was it strong, it almost sent my senses into the clouds.
"No, I'm good. I just downed three shots at the entrance because I thought to need to get on everyone's alcohol level, but they've gotten to my head now, so I'll wait a while until my next drink" she giggled. "Don't mind all the nonsense I might talk" she added and put a hand on her mouth as she laughed, which made me laugh too.

"So, you work at the Barca store?" Joan asked and I sent him a glare not to push it. Not with her. He could push my buttons all he wanted, but not hers.
"I do!" she replied, nodding. I had gotten the feeling that this job was necessary for her and not exactly... her passion. After all, I was still wondering what happened to med school in Manchester, but she will tell me when she'll feel comfortable enough. There was no need to rush it, I was following my therapist's advice of being friends first.

"How many of my jerseys did you sell today?" Pedri slurred, inserting himself into the conversation.
"Too many. Average age of buyer: 12 years old." she replied and Pedri shut his eyes dramatically, as if he had been hurt and I only laughed. The obsession with him and Gavi was unbelievable. Sure, I also had my fair share of girls sliding into my DMs with... rather inappropriate messages and pictures, but it was nothing compared to the hype they were getting.
"And how many of Ferran's?" my friend Pablo asked her with a mischievous grin, which also earned him a glare from me. Now that I think of it, everyone talking to her tonight was getting glares from me. Was it healthy? Probably not, but they were all being creepy and I wanted to protect her... as a friend.

"None today" she said and gave me a pouty face which made me laugh.
"Next year - flying through the roof, I'm telling you" I joked and pulled her closer to lay my arm around her, which she surprisingly let me.
"Oi, Lina, no flirting here!" her friend Dan interrupted the moment and pulled away my arm, which made me want to strangle him, but he often saved Pedri's ass whenever he forgot something at training or a match, so I let it slide this time. He dragged her away from me but she turned around, sending me a small wave, making it the last I saw of her for the night. She must have left not long after, because by the time I left, which was quite soon, I hadn't found her anymore.

But when I returned home and finally charged my phone that had died sometime during the night, I was more than happy to find a message from her.

Cata
Sorry for disappearing but in his state, Dan decided that he wants to propose to Sara this summer and is taking me ring shopping tomorrow morning...
Anyways, I wanted to say bye but couldn't find you anymore, so I hope that you had fun celebrating! ☺️
Maybe next week another tutoring session? 🙊

Ferri
Haha don't worry, keep me updated on the ring!
Sure, I'm free Thursday and Friday, how does that work for you? ☺️
