With the new Congress' inauguration, it was now on the Agenda to form Poltical parties for this super-national union. Like the Poltical parties of the EU these parties would be a collection of parties from the member nations. Alex knew that the Conservatives had an advantage, there was not a liberal political party in every nation. However Alex had an idea. It was a genius idea.
He called a gathering of Liberal and Social Democratic Parties including, the Democrats, Canada's Liberals, The democrats of Greenland, the new alliance party of Mexico, the Barbados Labour Party, the Belize People's Front, the new democratic party of Canada, the National Liberation Party(costa rica), Dominican Liberation Party, Siumut(Greenland), Movimiento Semilla(Guatemala), Innovation and Unity Party(Honduras), People's National Party(Jamaica), and many more regional parties in various colonial territories.
He announced to the crowd of delegates:
"Many of you know the proposal of a North American union similar to the EU".
He paused and then continued:
"It is of great importance and we believe all of you share our concerns that the radical right does not dominate this union. By ourselves, if we just were liberals or social democrats, we would be unable to stop them. They have an advantage but not in the Caribbean Islands. We therefore must unite to ensure our victory over the right wing and ensure democracy thrives in this Union!"
The Crowd cheered and soon all parties voted to form the Liberal Social Union (LSU).
