Chapter 9- The Scandal

March, 2055

A phone call was made to the President.

"Hello Evelyn!"

"Hello Alex!" She said.

"I am having a problem, a congressman from Alabama, Tom Urban, of the America First Party is speaking against my Union proposal. He has ads all over. The polling shows his ads aren't convincing that many people but it's turned Alabama firmly against the proposal"

"That's very bad" said the president.

"What's worse is the Governor said they will secede again if this proposal goes ahead."

" Governor Eforn is crazy!" Said the President.

"Screw Alabama, they must be like the worst state in the country, they were bad with segregation but it hasn't gotten better, they literally voted for a candidate that talked about 'Sharknadoes' over me" he said.

This whole time he was completely unaware that someone was listening to the conversation, the person had hacked the signal.

The next day....

Alex woke up to rapid notifications on his phone he saw the title of the news. The title read:

"Garner: Alabama is the Worst State in the country".

He questioned how they got that information, did the president sabotage him. But then he saw a text from the FBI, they had reported to him:

"A man named Forrest Kemp hacked into your phone conversation last night, he recorded your conversation and sold it to the New York Post".

Of course it was the post, only such an unscrupulous paper would publish a private conversation like that.

His popularity went down a point from 65% approval to 64%. It was not big compared to what happened next.

His assistant Edward Biden, who was the Great Grandson of Joe Biden, the 46th president. Ran to him.

"Sir" Edward said "Alabama has succeeded".

"Tell the president, to prepare for war!" Alex responded.
