Chapter 39 - The Aftermath

August 7th- 11th ,2061

Alex walked back to Union Hall. Union hall was slightly damaged, statutes were knocked down in the foyer.

Barricades were erected to shield the NACPs from any future attack. Alex brought Will and Tim to show them the dangers of what one man can do.

He told his kids "When I was growing up, there was a man similar to Ramírez, he was a corrupt man, who thought he was above the law. In 2016 he was elected president of the United States. When he lost reelection in 2020, he got really upset. He falsely claimed fraud and caused an event similar to the events of yesterday where a mob stormed the US Capitol building. Luckily when he tried to run again, America rejected him. However we must never forget what one man can do. That man, his name was Donald Trump".

Tim asked "Papa, what did they do when this riot happened?"

"The capitol police defeated it, however some were killed the battle. Less than yesterday though."

Will said "That's upsetting daddy".

Tim said "I agree mate".

He took them in to the room where the NACPs were hiding and found them still there. He saw one of his deputy's the third secretary of the LSU, Angela Bridgestone of Barbados.

"Thank you Angela, for keeping the peace in the room" .

Angela said "Joan deserves credit too".

Angela turned to Joan Stevenson, third in command of the CU and former President Stevenson's daughter.

Joan went and talked to him "We need to disqualify Ramírez, you need to call a vote soon Mr Chancellor".

This turn of events was reminiscent of Liz Cheney after January 6th.

Then it was time for Alex to give his speech to the chamber and to the union :

"Yesterday, was a day that shall be engrained in the memory of the entire union. An armed mob stirred by the former Chancellor invaded the heart of the union and almost destroyed the institution we hold most dear... Our democracy!

Our wounds are present but they are healing. As the great US President and my Idol, Abraham Lincoln said in his second inaugural address near the tail end of the American civil war: 'With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation's wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations'.

These words echo through time and reach us in the modern day, our union has survived the test of its will and will continue to survive and prosper!"

Mass applause broke out in the chamber. He saw his sons from the gallery with large smiles on their faces.

The very same day, Ramírez broke his silence from house arrest . He didn't condemn the insurrection, instead he announced new products he was selling. An obvious grift to his supporters.

Ramírez said in his speech without even mentioning the insurrection:

"Our movement is in its most dire state. In order to support your favorite Chancellor, I am announcing a new product lineup. In addition to the existing MNAGA hats and shirts, I will be selling Ramírez water and Necklaces with crosses with your favorite chancellor being crucified on it , these necklaces will be customizable with your name. I will also be selling NFT trading cards featuring events from my life and career such as when I was an astronaut and superhero."

Alex couldn't believe this, Ramírez was following the Trump playbook exactly. He was even openly leading his supporters to idolatry.

On August 11th, 2061, the disqualification vote was held and with help from Joan Stevenson, the vote passed and Ramírez was permanently disqualified from holding any political office.

This was a victory for democracy.
