Today marks the commencement of a new month, and it presents an opportune moment for the union of two individuals who have shared a profound connection since their childhood years, Lorenzo and Meredith.
The wedding ceremony commenced a short while ago. Lorenzo appeared cheerful as he was about to be officially united in matrimony with his cherished partner. However, Meredith was not entirely pleased with the situation and was reconsidering her choice.
"I do," Lorenzo responded with a gentle squeeze of Meredith's hand, his eyes filled with affection as they met her beautiful hazel gaze.
"At this moment, do you, Meredith Gallagher, accept Lorenzo Guerriero as your lawful husband?" Meredith observed the overly optimistic expression on his face., and wanted to say I do just to keep him smiling but she couldn't as she doesn't love him, and couldn't force herself to love him.
"My apologies." Meredith regretfully glanced at Lorenzo as she withdrew her hands from his and swiftly exited the church.
Mrs. Gallagher expressed her apologies to Lorenzo as she swiftly departed from the church in search of her daughter.
After Meredith's unexpected departure, Giovanni, Lorenzo's cousin, respectfully left the pew and approached the altar to offer his condolences.
"I do not understand." Lorenzo's eyes welled up with tears, his cheeks flushed red as his lips were on the verge of quivering.
Giovanni embraced his cousin warmly, offering his shoulder as a comforting support for Lorenzo to express his emotions. Lorenzo gratefully accepted the gesture and found solace in the embrace.
In the meantime, Mrs. Guerriero was taken aback.
"A month ago, I received a letter from Meredith." Mrs. Guerriero stated in a calm and respectful tone.
"I meticulously reviewed the letter and was delighted to learn that Meredith intends to marry Lorenzo. She also expressed that he is the love of her life. However, I am concerned about the events that transpired prior to the ceremony, particularly Meredith's audacious act of humiliating my son in front of the church." Mrs. Guerriero stated to her other son, Dante.
"I am not in a position to provide a definitive answer at this time, but I will make enquiries and endeavour to obtain the necessary information." Dante is a private investigator, and he possesses exceptional skills in resolving confidential matters.
"Thank you, my son." Mrs. Guerriero's arms extended graciously, inviting her son into a warm and affectionate embrace.
She politely expressed her desire to depart.
"May I kindly enquire about your preferred destination so that I can arrange for the chauffeur to escort you there?" Dante asked politely, gently wiping away his mother's tears with his thumb.
"Our house, if you please." Dante placed a gentle kiss on his mother's head as he exited the church and proceeded to contact the chauffeur.
*Ringing*
"Hello, Felix."
"What's up, Dante?"
"I would like to request your assistance in transporting my mother to her residence. Your assistance in this matter would be greatly appreciated."
"I apologize for the inconvenience, but due to the current traffic conditions, it may take approximately half an hour to arrive. I appreciate your understanding."
"Certainly! I shall inform her promptly."
"Okay, and Dante?"
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
*The call has concluded*
Dante carefully placed his phone into his trouser pocket and gracefully turned around to stroll back into the church.
The area was nearly devoid of individuals.
He walked slowly to the pew where his relatives were seated. "Felix will arrive in thirty minutes to pick you up, mother." Mrs. Guerriero smiled warmly at her son.
"That is wonderful." Mr. Guerriero gently placed his hand on his wife's waist and drew her closer to comfort her in the best way he could.
"Brother, may I have a moment of your time for a private conversation?" Lorenzo sniffled, nodded, and respectfully followed Dante to the church's garden for their discussion.
"Could you please tell me what transpired before the ceremony?"
"Excuse me, but could you please clarify what you mean?"
"Please refrain from behaving in a foolish manner, Ren."
"Meredith and I had a disagreement. Now, I should excuse myself after I bid farewell to the others." Dante did not wish to detain his brother to resume their conversation, as Lorenzo is not in a favourable mood at the moment.
Dante let out a sigh, pivoted his body, and proceeded to walk through the church garden. Upon noticing a pavilion in the distance, he made the decision to situate himself on the decorative bench located beneath it. After a certain amount of time had passed, he succumbed to the embrace of sleep.
