It has been a month since their romantic rendezvous on the rooftop of Giovanni's family residence. They were pleasantly surprised by the swift passage of time this year.
The couple was currently strolling hand in hand in a public space, which demonstrated their remarkable courage. Despite receiving judgmental glances from certain individuals, particularly senior citizens and adolescents, they appeared unfazed and continued their walk with composure.
Alistair quietly expressed his desire for increased societal support for individuals like them. As he felt his partner's gentle hand squeeze, Alistair turned to look at him with wide, glistening eyes. Giovanni responded with a reassuring smile, conveying the message that even if society may not fully embrace their relationship, they have each other's unwavering support.
"I have a question I have been meaning to ask you." Giovanni broke the silence after a few minutes as they walked over to an unoccupied bench and sat down.
"Certainly, I'll be glad to assist you with any enquiries you may have." Alistair responded with a courteous smile, indicating his readiness to answer the forthcoming question.
"Since you recently graduated last month, we were unable to celebrate your accomplishment in a special manner. Therefore, I propose that we embark on a brief excursion to a destination of your choosing. Please understand that this is merely a suggestion, and I do not intend to pressure you into accepting it. The idea simply occurred to me this morning, and I thought it might be a pleasant way to commemorate your achievement." Alistair affectionately embraced his boyfriend from the side, while Giovanni reciprocated the gesture by wrapping his arms around Alistair's waist.
"That would be wonderful. I would be delighted to accompany you on a trip. It will just be the two of us, correct? No one else will be joining us?" Giovanni nodded in agreement, causing Alistair's face to flush a deep red. This trip would mark the first time they would be alone together outside of Canterbury.
"Could we possibly travel internationally?" Alistair enquired as he gazed at his partner with an optimistic expression.
"I believe that your parents, particularly your mother, may not approve of that idea." Alistair expressed his disapproval by releasing his embrace and folding his arms across his chest, displaying evident frustration.
"I have matured and am no longer a child, though." Giovanni gently tousled Alistair's hair.
"Although you are still a teenager, Alistair." Alistair sighed, which only made Giovanni chuckle as his boyfriend was simply too charming.
They continued to discuss potential destinations for their upcoming journey, a journey that they hoped would deepen their affection for one another.
