Alistair courteously returned Lorenzo to the hospital, as he had not been discharged and had been unwillingly taken by one of Giovanni's bodyguards.
On the way to the hospital in the car, Lorenzo respectfully explained everything to his husband. When he was in a coma, memories flooded his mind. At first, he thought it might be a dream, but it felt a little too familiar to be just a dream.
Upon waking, he politely enquired with the nurse, seeking answers to his numerous questions. However, she could only provide information regarding the circumstances that led to his coma. Subsequently, Lorenzo's father entered the room, having been a regular visitor during his son's unconscious state. Overjoyed upon seeing Lorenzo awake, he expressed his delight.
Lorenzo politely enquired of his father whether he had the answers to the questions he had posed to the nurse, and his father indeed possessed the knowledge.
Mr. Guerriero shared all the information with him, and Lorenzo felt overwhelmed by a multitude of emotions simultaneously. After their conversation, his father had to leave for a scheduled meeting. Later on, Cassius arrived and insisted that the accompanying bodyguard escort Lorenzo to the warehouse.
Cassius provided him with a change of clothes and a mask to conceal his identity, ensuring that the hospital staff would not become suspicious about two unfamiliar men escorting a patient out of the facility. Despite this precaution, a nurse enquired about their identities, to which Cassius simply responded that they were visiting someone. The nurse accepted this explanation and permitted them to leave without further enquiry.
"I kindly request that you sign this document, which will formally conclude your discharge process." Lorenzo politely complied with the receptionist's request and proceeded to sign the document. He then respectfully handed it back to the receptionist.
"Thank you very much, we will make a note of this in your records. Now, have a wonderful day." Lorenzo glanced at Alistair, who smiled gently at him.
They proceeded towards Alistair's car and entered it, at which point Lorenzo chose to initiate a conversation.
"I sincerely apologize for the indiscretion I committed while I was suffering from memory loss. I genuinely believed that I was in love with your sister, and it was never my intention to engage in infidelity." Lorenzo's eyes welled up with tears as he expressed his deep remorse for his actions.
Lorenzo sniffed and glanced at his husband. "It was not your fault. You were not in the right frame of mind." Alistair reassured the other gentleman because, in all honesty, it was not Lorenzo's fault, but rather Giovanni's.
If Giovanni had refrained from purchasing those pharmaceutical medications and mixing them with the food, Lorenzo would not have even considered engaging in infidelity.
"A great deal has occurred in the past few days. It is truly quite extraordinary, and I forgive you." Alistair paused his vehicle at a red light, his mind occupied with thoughts of Giovanni.
Lorenzo expressed his appreciation, yet he harboured a sense of unworthiness regarding Alistair's act of forgiveness.
"May I ask if you have any concerns or thoughts regarding the circumstances surrounding Giovanni's passing?" Lorenzo tilted his head as his eyes widened in shock.
"It was a bit unusual, particularly considering the absence of blood when he shot himself." Alistair nodded; if there was no blood, it could only mean one thing.
Giovanni is still alive.
