Pierre awoke near midnight and was greeted by Dante, who wished to have a significant conversation with him. Pierre was unsure whether to be forthright with his partner or to act as if he had forgotten about the matter.

It was no longer worth deceiving him, so he mustered the courage to be honest and revealed everything. Although he anticipated Dante to react angrily, surprisingly, Dante responded with a gentle smile amidst tears and embraced him, taking care not to cause any discomfort or pain to Pierre.

In the interim, Lorenzo was on the verge of waking up any day now. The nurse caring for him contacted Alistair half an hour ago. He was relieved and desired to visit him but recalled Giovanni's caution.

Alistair was presently at his cousin's residence to visit the twins. Meredith had left Sheffield on the day she discovered that her significant other had been involved with another person during their relationship. She made the decision to take a personal trip to clear her mind and unwind for a while before returning.

Although she has no desire to be involved in her children's lives, she dedicated a significant amount of her time to engaging with them prior to her departure, as she believed it was the appropriate course of action given her previous abandonment of them.

"I heard that Pierre was hospitalized due to excessive alcohol consumption yesterday. I hope he is doing well." Cordelia made a mention of this while having a bite of the sandwich that Alistair had thoughtfully prepared for her. He had also prepared a sandwich for himself. It was truly delicious.

"I am curious to know if Pierre's struggle with sobriety may have contributed to the conclusion of his relationship with Meredith. If this is the case, it raises the question of whether he genuinely had feelings for her. After all, if he did not, it would have been easier for him to simply accept the affections of his other lover rather than becoming emotionally distressed over someone he claimed not to love." Cordelia politely nodded in agreement with her cousin's statement, acknowledging the logical reasoning behind it.

"We should enquire with him, as we did not allow him to fully explain himself. Technically, I prevented him from doing so when I asked you both to leave the house that day. Furthermore, he has been a close friend for a considerable amount of time, and we should be there to support him." Alistair glanced at his cousin and smiled in agreement. Indeed, Pierre required their unwavering support, as did Meredith. Regrettably, Meredith was currently absent, but upon her return, she would undoubtedly receive unconditional love and support.

It is hoped that the former couple will be able to find a way to reconcile and reestablish a connection. While it may not be necessary for their bond to be as strong as it was during their romantic relationship, it would be beneficial if they could make an effort to become friends once more. However, it is important to acknowledge that not all individuals maintain contact with their former partners after a separation.

Hopefully, the outcome will be different for them.
