➹THIRD PERSON PERSPECTIVE➷

✾March 10th, 2013- 04:42: Sheffield✾

A considerable amount of time has elapsed since they each selected appropriate names for Lorenzo's daughters. Tomorrow, they will formally register the chosen names.

Lorenzo may have considered naming them instead of referring to them as "baby girl," but he has since come to the realisation that he is unaware of their date of birth. Furthermore, contacting Meredith is not a viable option, and he is unaware that Alistair is in communication with the runaway bride, preventing him from seeking assistance from that source. Given these circumstances, it remains uncertain how he will proceed.

Perhaps Meredith had written it on the note that was attached to one of the bassinets, and he simply overlooked it.

He promptly rose from the couch, where he had been seated with Alistair, engrossed in an action series on television for over twenty minutes. His sudden movement startled the other gentleman present in the sitting room, but Alistair refrained from making any remarks and simply observed Lorenzo's hasty retreat to what he presumed was his bedroom.

Lorenzo was absent for a few minutes, attempting to locate the note Meredith had given him on the day she abandoned her children. Alistair was perplexed by the younger man's actions in the room, but he respected people's privacy and left him undisturbed.

"I'VE FOUND IT!" Alistair was even more perplexed than before, if that was even possible. What did Lorenzo find?

Lorenzo swiftly returned to the sitting room to present his discovery to Alistair.

"I discovered that even though my daughters now have names, I was unaware of their date of birth. Therefore, I presumed that Meredith had written it on the note she had attached to one of the bassinets on the day the twins were left at my doorstep, and I was indeed correct!" Alistair gave a polite nod of understanding as Lorenzo resumed his seat next to him.

"Excuse me, if you don't mind me asking, when is their birthday?" Alistair enquired politely.

"March 4th." Alistair pondered for a few moments. If Meredith did not wish to be a mother, why did she keep the infants for four days before entrusting the responsibility of their care to Lorenzo? Did someone persuade her to give them up? Also, if she had them for more than a day, why weren't names assigned to them?

"Excuse me, but I noticed that they are four days old, and in just three more days, they will officially be a week old. Time certainly passes quickly, doesn't it?" Lorenzo's realization struck him profoundly, causing his mouth to drop open as he gazed intently at Alistair. Alistair, on the other hand, was utterly perplexed by the intensity of Lorenzo's stare, finding it rather peculiar.

"Yes, you are correct. Additionally, I must return to work tomorrow. Would you be comfortable managing the twins by yourself?" Alistair gave a subtle smile, and as before, Lorenzo failed to notice.

"Certainly, I will be fine. However, I will reach out to you if I require any assistance." Lorenzo gave Alistair a friendly smile, causing Alistair's heart to flutter momentarily.

Tomorrow, Alistair will encounter a new challenge that he has not previously faced. However, he expresses confidence in his ability to handle the situation. Despite not having lived with Lorenzo for a long time, he has noticed that Lorenzo has refrained from consuming alcohol or cigarettes, contrary to Mrs. Guerriero's mention of a current addiction.

Could it be possible to know if Lorenzo's decision to cease smoking and drinking was influenced by the arrival of the twins, prompting him to assume the role of a responsible adult, or if his feelings for Meredith have waned? Perhaps Alistair will enquire about this matter at an appropriate time.
