➹THIRD PERSON PERSPECTIVE➷

"Hello, Meredith. How are you doing today?" Alistair said in a solemn yet firm manner.

"Alistair, I am currently unavailable to engage in a discussion. Please respect my time and refrain from initiating any unnecessary disputes." Alistair politely expressed his disagreement with a soft chuckle and a gentle shake of his head.

"Excuse me, but I did not intend to engage in an argument with you. My intention was simply to have a friendly and casual conversation. I hope we can continue our discussion in a respectful and constructive manner." Meredith sighed audibly on the other end of the line. There was a rustling of papers before she addressed him.

"Very well, but please be brief. I have a meeting with Pierre in a few minutes." Alistair couldn't help but roll his eyes once more. It was evident that Pierre was the true object of Meredith's affections, yet he was unfaithful to her by engaging in an extramarital relationship. Alistair had attempted to inform Meredith of this betrayal, but she refused to believe him.

"I would like to enquire about the reasons behind your decision to leave your babies at Lorenzo's residence. Given his current state of health, it seems challenging for him to care for himself, let alone two infants. I must express my surprise and concern regarding this matter. Additionally, I believe Lorenzo may still harbour feelings for you despite the humiliation he experienced at your wedding, although he may not openly admit it. I would appreciate it if you could provide some clarification on this situation." Alistair patiently waited for Meredith's response, hoping for a direct and satisfactory answer rather than an evasive excuse.

"I am unable to answer your question at this moment." Upon saying this, Alistair could hear a male voice in the background, enquiring Meredith about the person she was conversing with. After she responded, the phone was transferred from Meredith's possession to the man's.

"Hey Alistair, how's it going?" Alistair let out a sigh of frustration as he listened to the other man's laughter.

"Excuse me, Pierre. I was attempting to engage in a conversation with Meredith. Would you mind allowing us to continue our discussion?" Pierre's laughter intensified upon hearing Alistair's polite request.

"I believe she may not be interested in continuing a conversation with you. Therefore, I will conclude our call now as I have made a reservation for us at a remarkable restaurant located an hour away. Farewell." Alistair politely requested Pierre to cease speaking, but Pierre responded with laughter and ended the conversation abruptly, leaving Alistair feeling disheartened.

Alistair was leaning over the terrace, deeply engrossed in his thoughts, when an abrupt and resounding knock from behind startled him, causing him to abruptly shift his attention.

Lorenzo, who was carrying a piece of paper in his hand with potential baby girl names written on it, politely asked Alistair for assistance in selecting appropriate names.

"Hello, I would like to kindly request your assistance. I just woke up and decided to compile a list of potential baby girl names for my daughters. However, I am experiencing difficulty in making a decision and would greatly appreciate your guidance in this matter. Thank you for your attention to this request." Alistair greeted Lorenzo with a cordial smile and invited him to sit on the terrace chairs. They settled down, prepared to thoughtfully select two lovely names for Lorenzo's daughters.
