E L L O R A

I stare at the wooden door that was shut on my face a minute ago.

I honestly don't know what to say or do anymore.

My heart is still beating a mile a minute, from when he had trapped me on his bed…under him.

The memory of his aftershave so close is still fresh in my mind. And the sensual way his fingers played with my hair, picking up each strand so carefully.

His touch, contrary to his words, is so gentle. As if any wrong move would break me.

The airport.

The veranda.

I bite my lips unconsciously, at the memory of his on mine. Because although his touch is gentle, his lips were anything but.

Nope. Not going there. Not when he freaking locked me inside his room.

The rage comes back on quickly. I clench my jaws staring at the door as if it personally offended me.

I want to hit something.

Possibly someone.

Preferably a certain professor.

If I already didn't know that the door, along with the walls, is sound proof, I would've banged on the door until someone opened up. Just to spite professor Langdon.

I seriously I cannot believe I have to sleep in his bed tonight-

Oh my God. Marshall.

I am supposed to meet him tonight. How on earth would I sneak out if I'm sleeping in a room Professor Langdon is in? That is next to impossible.

I did get some really good information about the Dark Scientists from Isabella today though. Only if I could've talked to her a little bit longer. Only if.

The Dark Scientists.

The newspaper cuttings in Professor Langdon's library were all about this sixties science cult. I didn't tell Marshall anything about it because until my conversation with Isabella today, I had no solid proof at all.

Except the part where your thirty two year old physics professor shares the exact same name with the head of a science cult, which was active fifty plus years ago.

What am I supposed to tell Marshall? That professor Langdon is a Vampire?

Well that's obviously not true. He probably just shares the same name. It can be a coincidence.

The same surname too, Ellora?

Okay, that's a bit too much of a coincidence.

Where does my father fit into all this?

I remember professor Langdon's words from back in his car.

Your father has never worked in the government think tank you think he worked at, Ellora.

And he had outright told me that day that the people in the Coven are part of The Dark Scientists.

At that point I had no clue who The Dark Scientists were.

And then the newspaper cuttings happened.

I could feel the beginning of a headache come in.

There are so many points in this mystery and it all adds at one point. It's like a huge puzzle I only have a few pieces of.

Just then the door clicks, as the lock opens.

I freeze.

Professor Langdon is not supposed to be back this early.
