“I'm not talking to you.” Ally pouts with crossed arms walking out of the school gate.
I was leaning on the gate of Phoenix High for the past forty minutes. Since I already missed two visits, I did not want to be late today.
I stand up straight as I try to take the schoolbag from Ally's shoulders.
Ally moves back from me.
Ouch.
“Alrighty.” I say as I pull away Ally's little school bag and swing it along my right shoulder.
Ally glares at me, before turning around and walking away.
I sigh. I deserved this.
At sixteen I'm way taller than my twelve year old sibling, so in two strides I catch up.Then ruffle Ally's hair.
“Hey..!” Ally grumbles moving away from me.
Hiding my smile, I move closer and pull Ally's cheek.
“Seriously Magnus, stop!” Ally says, trying to slap away my hand. The kid is barely till my chest, Ally can't do shit to me.
I pull Ally back by collar right by my side again, as I stroll with the school bag on my one shoulder.
The kid struggles in my hold, “Magnus, I'm going to kill you-”
“Hey, kiddo? Forgive me, please?”
That finally gets Ally to pause. It doesn't take much for my kid sibling to stop being mad at me, but I know even Ally has limited patience.
I don't know how long I'll have these privileges of picking my sibling up from school, so I'm going to grab every opportunity I get.
“This is the third time you broke your promise, Magnus.” Ally exclaims quietly. “When you missed two days last week, you promised you'd never miss another day.”
I sigh. So many broken promises already. I don't know how many more I will have to break.
“I know, my apology is not going to make a difference….but will Patrick's do?”
Patrick's store is the toy store of the town. And my kid sibling is a Marvel fanatic.
That gets Ally's attention faster than lightning. “Explain.”
“Say, we go to Patrick's this afternoon, I buy you any one toy of your heart's desire-”
Ally turns away back front, pretending to be nonchalant, “Dad is gonna take me this weekend anyway-”
“-AND LATER, we go to DJ's?”
Ally pauses once again.
Marvel and burgers for lunch on the same day? Yeah, I don't think the kid has enough will to pass up on that.
“You,” Ally points a finger at my chest, “are trying to bribe me.”
“Well, if that gets you to forgive me, then yes I am. A brother can try.” I shrug,
“Hey Ally!” We are interrupted by a boy the same age as Ally waving towards us.
Ally's entire face changes. “Um, hi Alex!” Ally says awkwardly-
-not awkwardly, I realise…blushing. Ally's cheeks have turned bright red, waving at Alex.
I raise a brow. Interesting.
