"SHE'S with me Tulip, thank you."
The deep, captivating voice in search of which I had been roaming hither and thither all over the building for the past half of an hour, reaches my ear.
I couldn't help the smile that breaks through my face, as I turn around to face Pof. Langdon. My insides flutter with sheer happiness at the sight of him standing their in all his Prof. Perfect glory.
His eyes twinkles as they lands on me briefly, before going back on Mrs. Wilkins.
"I hope," Mrs. Wilkins says lowering her glasses, looking at over them at Prof. Langdon, "that you are aware of the rules Abraham."
"No worries Tulip, I am." saying this he turns towards me.
"Lets walk and talk?"
"Yes Professor." I say almost pleased at such an opportunity.
Sparing Mrs. Wilkins a nod he turns towards the door.
I nod quickly at Mrs. Wilkins, and almost rush towards the door to match Prof. Langdon's long strides, without waiting to see if Mrs. Wilkins returned either of our nods. Who cares about Mrs. Wilkins now?
A minute later I find myself right behind Prof. Langdon out of MU building and on the roads. Bright rays of sun hits my face the moment I step out of the building. My hand shoots right up to my eyes to cover the sunlight.
As if on cue, Proffessor Langdon visibly slows down his pace to match mine. And the next moment I know, theres no more sun ray on my face. Moving my hand back down to my side, I glance at him - to see his six something feet tall head blocking the sun from my face.
I get a weird feeling he did it deliberately. As unusual as it sounds, I feel he deliberately came back to stand beside me, right at the angle from which the sun was bothering me.
Said Professor on the other hand has turned unusually grim. The light in his eyes from a few minutes ago has completely dimmed. His hands are stuffed inside his pant pockets as he walks with his eyes straight forward.
I avert my eyes back on the road.
It hasn't snowed since the day before yesterday. The roads, therefore are clean. Even the small green ferns and weeds that grow in cracks can be seen today, which is a rare sight in Moonsville.
"I have a proposal to make Ellora." The man beside me says abruptly.
My heart skips a beat. Lord, why does he have to take my name this often? And why do I feel this way when he says my stupid name?
I look up sideways at him, to find his gaze already on me this time. His jaw is clenched, as he looks straight in my eyes in an intense scrutinizing gaze. A little unnerved, I avoid his gaze.
Instead I ask, "What kind of proposal Professor?"
Instead of giving me a direct answer, he says, "Tell me Ellora," needless to say my heart skips a beat once again, trying to ignore which I focus on his words this time, "you would not overthink this. Another thing I would like to point out. My proposal is not driven by pity. Do I make myself clear?"
