The next morning at Minji's apartment, the sun filtered through the blinds, casting a soft glow on the room. Haewon and Sunghoon were sitting in the lounge, quietly discussing their plans. Sunoo had stayed up, keeping a vigilant watch, but Minji had slept through the night, unaware of their arrival.
As Minji woke up and heard about Haewon's presence from Sunoo, she sprinted out of her room and into the lounge. "Haewonnn!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with joy. She ran and jumped onto Haewon, hugging her tightly.
Haewon, giggling, hugged her back just as fiercely. For a moment, she felt like an ordinary girl reunited with her best friend. "I missed you," she said, her voice warm and sincere.
"I missed you too," Minji replied, her face beaming with happiness.
After a long embrace, Minji pulled back and turned to Sunghoon, greeting him with a polite nod. "Good morning, Sunghoon."
"Morning, Minji," Sunghoon replied with a friendly smile.
They all settled down in the lounge, the atmosphere shifting from joyous reunion to focused determination. Haewon's expression became serious as she looked at her friends. "We need to discuss our plan for today regarding this guy."
Sunoo, leaning against the wall, nodded in agreement. "Like I told you before, I've been tracking his movements as you asked. He's been asking a lot of questions about you, Haewon."
Minji's expression turned concerned. "Do you think it's someone sent by the Bloodmae?"
"We're not sure," Haewon said, her voice steady. "It doesn't add up. If it was one of Bloodmae's guys, he wouldn't need to ask about my past. He already knows everything."
Sunghoon added, "We're going to track him ourselves. We can't afford to let this guy slip through our fingers."
Minji looked worried but nodded. "What can I do to help?"
"Go to your classes and stay safe," Haewon said, reaching out to squeeze Minji's hand reassuringly. "If anyone asks about me, stick to the story we talked about. You don't know much, and I moved away months ago."
Minji nodded. "Got it. But be careful, okay?"
"We will," Sunghoon assured her. "We'll check things out and come back. We just need to get some answers."
Sunoo interjected, "One thing I should mention-I'm not sure if this guy is human or a vampire. I couldn't tell without touching him, and he's always seen asking around during the day, not at night. That means he could be human."
Haewon nodded thoughtfully. "Alright, we'll stay alert. Sunghoon, you know where he shows up, right?"
Sunghoon glanced at Sunoo, who confirmed, "Yes, I do."
