Chapter 11

"Grabe, libre mo talaga?!" Davin asked for the fifth time.

I was on the verge to smack his head for literally asking me that repeatedly. Para siyang sirang plaka!

He was grinning ear to ear as well like an excited kid having his treat for the very first time in his life.

"Isa pang tanong, tutusukin na kita nitong stick," I warned as I showed him the small stick good for the street foods.

He dramatically held his chest.

He playfully rolled his eyes so I did the same.

I narrowed my brows this time, but then he did a smug face. I simply rolled my eyes, but he did it more exaggeratedly.

At this point, we were just doing mocking faces to each other without saying anything.

Yet he broke the chain!

"Manong, oh!

The amount of fishballs I have in my cup is exactly what the vendor told me to get! This dummy really knows how to test my patience!

Good thing that the vendor was calm about it.

Davin chuckled while stuffing his mouth with kwek-kwek. This dummy is a mess.

"Dummy, you're eating like it's your last day here," I pointed out as I gave him an uneven look.

Davin and I were simply standing on the side of the roadway because there happened to be no extra chairs for us to sit on.

"Do you want to eat more?" I asked him matapos maubos ang pagkain na nasa cup. "Come on, don't hesitate to tell me," I said with assurance.

He was tapping his chest aggressively as he said, "J-Juice!"

I then proceeded to buy two plastics of juice for the both of us. I was even rushing to give it to him because his face began to look red. Is he out of breath? Goodness! Grabe kasi siya kung kumain!

"Ha... thank you, Lord," he said out of relief when he finished drinking. "Sorry naman, ah! Napadami ako ng kain, libre kasi, e!" he grinned.

However, I and Davin remained standing on the roadside while watching the steady streams of the vehicles, the raucous interactions among the other students, and the tantalizing scents wafting from different nearby street food stalls.

Our gaze instantly met, making my brow lift for an inch.

"What is it this time?" mahinang tanong ko.
