Attorney Davien Velazco was hospitalized after suffering three fatal gunshot wounds...

I read the article continuously as I gripped my phone. My right thumb was slowly scrolling through the screen while I was biting my left thumb, getting anxious as time went on.

Until I saw the date of the article and the time it happened. My heart dropped when I recognized the date coincided with my time on the balcony waiting for Davin.

And now I came to understand and realized it. The reason why Davin could not come that night. And based on what Ma'am Eve mentioned when I talked to her earlier; Davin was there... he was able to hear the gunshots.

He must have experienced such traumatizing event. Hindi biro ang makarinig ng gunshots na 'yon, lalo pa at daddy niya ang na-involved sa insidente. And now I totally understand kung bakit nandoon din siya sa Mental Health Center kanina.

He must have gone through a lot as well. I wonder if he's completely better now? Davin...

"Nakakaumay naman si Asther, kaklase ka na naman namin!"

Months flew by like hours and days, and today marks the beginning of the new school year for us as Grade 12 students. Kami-kami lang din ang magkaka-klase and same section pa rin, ang tanging nabago lang ay ang grade level.

"Wala kang magagawa, ako ang imbestigador mo," Asther tapped Edorina's shoulder, "dahil hindi kita tatantanan."

"Kinginang 'to, mas malala pa 'to sa sumpa, e. Ano bang kasalanan ko sa past life ko?!" reklamo naman ni Edo. Pinitik ni Asther ang noo ng babaita, bumawa naman 'yong isa, hanggang sa nagpitikan na sila ng noo.

I closed my eyes tightly while witnessing them. Minasahe ko muna saglit ang sentido ko bago ko sila pag-umpugin.

"Aray naman!" they whined in unison, caressing their forehead.

"Find your seats now, dumb asses. Bahala kayo, ayoko sa harapan," pangunguna ko at naghanap na ng mauupuan. There's no new to the environment. All of us know each other already kaya kahit first day pa lang, ang ingay-ingay na nilang lahat.

"Tabi-tabi tayo!"

Just like that, my silent space shattered when Edo and Asther took their seats next to me. Pinagigitnaan pa nila akong dalawa. I'm sure hindi na ako matatahimik nito. Grabe namang sumpa 'to.

"Ang taray, amoy na amoy ko 'yong hangin ng Japan sa 'yo, Edo," Asther commented. "Wala manlang pasalubong!"

"Ah! I forgot, mayroon akong ibibigay sa inyong dalawa!" excited na sabi ni Edo at binuksan ang bag niya.

My lips parted when she took a rose gold bracelet. Nakalagay pa talaga 'yon sa isang transparent box na sobrang pretty ng design. Binigay niya sa akin ang isang bracelet, ang isa naman kay Asther, at ang isa ay kay Edo.

"Matchy," I commented.

The three of us were excited to wear it. Nang masuot namin, pinagtabi-tabi pa namin ang kamay para makita kung gaano ka-pretty ng bracelet. It was a very simple yet pretty bracelet with Japanese lettering on it.

"Name natin ang naka-lettering dito sa bracelet natin. Ang cute, 'no?" Edo giggled.

"Thank you!" sabay naming sabi ni Asther.

Hindi naman kami nag-klase sa unang subject, more on introducing yourself lang. Although we already knew each other, only the teachers introduced themselves because the teachers in Grades 11 and 12 are separate.
