Chapter 15

"You deserve my feelings too."

I bit my lower lip, my gaze straying downwards, and a flush of heat raced across my cheeks. I didn't even realize I said those. But perhaps, for a person like him, or Davin himself, he deserves the chance I hadn't considered until that moment.

My heart hammered against my chest, its pace was so loud in the silence.

I sensed Davin's presence, turning his attention to me. At sa pagkakataong 'to, alam kong nakaharap na siya sa 'kin. The stillness continued to swallow us, filling the space between us with loud ease yet silent tension.

"R-Red?" Bakas sa tono ni Davin na hindi siya makapaniwala sa sinabi ko. "Do you have feelings for me as well?"

My heart was racing so loud, and a flush spread across my cheeks as I pursed my lips. How did I end up here?

For so long, I fooled myself that my feelings for him were only platonic, treating him as a friend. But right now, I am faced with terrible truths and realizations. It feels like I was drowning in my own feelings, yet somehow, I don't mind being bound by it.

As long as it's alongside him... I'm prepared to go further.

"I'm sorry it took a bit long," I started, looking up to meet his siren gaze. "I do... I have feelings for you too."

The surroundings seemed to hush as his eyes remained fixed on mine. The weight of his stare was making me weak. I noticed how he swallowed by the movement of his Adam's apple. And then, as if a switch that had been flipped, his eyes lit up with a sense of joy and hope.

"Y-Yes!" he exclaimed with enthusiasm kaya nagulat ako. He even covered his mouth using his hand. "Gusto rin ako ni Red!" sabi niya at nagtatatalon.

I got embarrassed for no reason because of the term he used. "Dummy! You're too loud!" suway ko sa kanya.

"T-Teka lang! 'Yong babaeng gusto ko, gusto rin ako!" tuwang-tuwa niyang sabi.

Paulit-ulit pa siyang lumulundag tapos tatalikuran ako, hindi siya mapakali sa sobrang saya niya. This dummy!

Pulang-pula ang mukha at tenga niya. Ako rin naman. Ramdam na ramdam ko ang init sa pisngi ko. This genuine and admit moment was unlike anything I had ever experienced before. So, ganito pala ang pakiramdam? But I know, with him, there could be no regrets.

"Davin, calm down!" I pulled the hem of his sweatshirt. Hindi pa rin kasi siya tumitigil.

"S-Sorry! Overwhelmed lang!" he reasoned. Medyo kumakalma na rin siya. "So... paano na 'to?" mahinang tanong niya.

"What do you mean by 'paano na 'to'?" I got confused too.

I felt his hands softly touch mine, sending a rush of warmth through me. With him that close and our faces inches away, I was barely unable to move. His keen and serious stare made my heart drove.

"Red... I'm going to pursue you," he said seriously. "Liligawan kita."

That wasn't merely a question, rather, it was a firm resolute brimming with determination and sincerity.

I nodded carefully as I answered, "Okay... I can't see myself being pursued by anyone else but you."

Lumapad ang ngiti niya, malapit pa rin ang mukha namin sa isa't isa. His siren gaze softened out of relief, wala na siyang balak tanggalin ang tingin niya sa 'kin.

"I'll do my best. Gagawin ko ang lahat para mas lalo akong manalo sa puso mo," he remarked.

Weeks and days quickly passed by, the second semester finally started. As usual, maraming fair ang nagaganap sa school na 'to. And to my favor, walang masyadong klase kapag ganoon.
