Chapter 12

I was utterly taken aback as I finished reading the letter Davin had given me. But before I could even gather my thoughts to respond and look at him again, his clubmate barged into the Art Club, leaving me bewildered and speechless.

That moment became my cue to immediately leave the Art Club, overwhelmed by my own emotions I could not even comprehend. Confusion, doubt, and a slew of questions flooded my head, leaving me with no other option but to walk away from him.

As I was rushing through the pathways, a sudden realization struck through my head-I was still holding the letter he had given, a stark reminder of the wild emotions whirling inside me. Kaya mas lalo akong nagmadaling pumunta sa classroom para itago ang letter sa bag ko.

But despite my stirring emotions and muddled thoughts, one thing was crystal clear: he had confessed that... he likes me.

"Red, sa'n ka ba nagpunta?!"

Bumungad ang boses ni Edorina na kakapasok sa classroom kasama si Asther. They were both eating snacks.

"S-Sa music room, Edo."

Lumapit ang dalawa sa akin, umupo pa sila sa tig-isang desk.

"Woah! Bakit ka namumula, 'te?" Asther pointed at my face so I quickly looked away.

"M-Mainit kasi sa labas," I reasoned out and pretended to use my phone. Pero dahil hindi ko alam ang ginagawa ko, kunwari na lang akong nag-i-scroll sa phone.

Kaunting oras na lang naman na at malapit nang mag-uwian. I suppose I should get some sleep so that I could rest my mind for a bit. Good thing that Asther and Edo know how to read the atmosphere so they didn't attempt to bother me anymore.

Pero kahit sa pag-idlip, hindi kumakalma ang puso ko. All I could see from my mind was Davin with his gleaming eyes that seemed to be full of admiration and hope while looking at me. Every moment and bond we have spent with each other are repeatedly going back in my mind.

So... he likes me after all?

But I don't know what should I feel. Hindi ko rin naman masasabi na may gusto ako sa kanya. It's quite... complicated.

"Hoy, 'yong mga cleaners d'yan, subukan niyong tumakas!" our Class President's voice filled the room.

But my classmates are blatantly listening to no one. Nagsi-takas na sila, lalo na 'yong mga boys.

"Edo, Asther, mauuna na akong umuwi. Good bye." Agad na akong lumabas mula sa classroom.

I badly need to get some fresh air. I thought kakalma na ang isipan ko kapag naka-idlip ako, but it looks like it only got worse.

Nagmadali na lang akong nagpunta sa building ng STEM. I proceeded to go to Renz's classroom because he wasn't responding to any of my messages mula pa kanina.

I noticed their room door that was partially open and tried to sneak a peek inside. But my gaze was blocked by a tall guy who's about to leave the room. He was carrying an electric guitar on his shoulder, his monolid eyes staring down at me. What I noticed last were his natural freckles.

"Excuse me," he said in a soft yet deep tone. "Are you looking for someone?"

Mabilis akong umalis sa pinto para bigyan siya ng daan bago sumagot, "I'm looking for Renz."

He raised an eyebrow while tilting his head. "He went home earlier," sagot niya bago maglakad paalis.

I don't know if he's nice or he's not just fond of having a long conversation with other people. Well, at least, alam kong wala na si Renz dito. How dare that Renz, anyway! Hindi niya manlang ako hinintay!
