Snape was just a bit hesitant, looking at the professor who stared back at him with some hope, hoping he would accept the invitation to the monthly meeting.
"Maybe, professor, I still don't know. I'll think about it," he commented calmly, but also did not refuse.
Slughorn was a bit surprised, but nodded. "Ah, of course, of course. I'll let you think about it and give me an answer as soon as you can," he said, with some hope that Snape might attend after all he always refused, until now.
"Well, I'll be going, professor," Snape announced, turning to leave.
"OK, you're dismissed," he said, as he began to prepare his desk to leave. After all, this was the last class of the day.
Snape left, and ran into someone, Minerva McGonagall was waiting for him.
He stared at her seeing she looked quite furious. "Mr. Snape, I came here to find out what happened with my students, after all they did not show up for any class today, due to a photo that shows them in the infirmary with many itching problems, do you have something to do with this?" She asked with a fierce look.
"Minerva? What is this?" Slughorn came out of the room and heard a bit of what Professor McGonagall had said, leaving him surprised with her approach towards Snape.
"I have some students from my house with a serious effect from itching powder, they were hit and said it was Snape the author of the act and that he used magic." She said dissatisfied turning back to Snape.
"Yes, I am the cause of this." Snape commented without any fear.
"You admitted it was you, Mr. Snape, I'm taking 50 points from Slytherin for attacking a student!" She said sternly.
"Wait a minute Minerva, you can't just take points from my student like that." He said with a tone showing a bit of anger.
"He admitted, Professor Slughorn. I see no reason why I can't do this." She said.
"Honestly..." Snape began, catching the attention of both professors. "I don't care about the points, take as many as you want." Snape said leaving Professor McGonagall speechless, after all, for her, all students should be intimidated by the points, or almost all...
Snape continued. "But it's strange, why were your students like this near the spell room on the third floor? I thought Gryffindor would be in the greenhouse with Professor Sprout and Hufflepuff. Why were your students waiting for me in front of my class a bit before the class started?" Snape asked looking into her eyes.
"That..." For the second time, Minerva was speechless, Slughorn looked at Minerva.
"I didn't know your students followed others to be attacked, Minerva." He said and looked at Snape. "Tell me exactly what happened."
"I was going to class, when I was approached by 4 individuals waiting for me in a hallway, there was a bladder in the air levitating with magic." He started calmly. "When I got close enough, they appeared and tried to throw the bladder at me, using a paralysis spell, I stuck them to the ground after a protection spell and caught the bladder before throwing it at them, ending up with 4 cowardly fools." Snape spoke without caring how the professor looked at him angrily.
"You must not insult students like that, Mr. Snape!" She said in her usual tone.
"You know, 4 people to face one student, if that's not cowardly, I'd like you to define what that word means to me, I thought your house represented bravery, which I see nothing in your students and nor in your self-protection with your little lions." Snape taunted.
