二十五

Four months have passed since the fight with Akaza, and the Kamaboko trio have been training nonstop. The boys have been working harder since Rengoku ended up introducing (Name) to his father.

The old man at first did not approve of (Name) because she was carrying a demon, but upon beating him up and stating that she saved Rengoku’s life, he started to see her in the light. Senjuro, Rengoku’s younger brother got along very well with (Name), occasionally blushing when he’s with her.

“(Name)-san, I want to find a wife that’s just like you!” he beamed at the taller girl, unaware of Rengoku spying on them from behind a tree furiously.

“That sounds horrible.” (Name) hummed, while Kokushibo snarled at the boy in his box, “there, there, Koku-kun. You’ll end up more grouchy if you keep acting like that.”

“Damn it, Senjuro! How dare you take (Name)-chan away from me!” Rengoku had a forced smile as he watched his crush converse with his brother, “she was supposed to hang out with me, not you!”

(Name) waved goodbye to the sunshine family, walking back to the Butterfly estate. Rengoku had begged his father to not drink in front of (Name), and the old man begrudgingly did, much to his surprise since (Name)’s morals did somehow resemble his wife’s.

(Name) walked down the trail in boredom. Tanjiro and the others were going on missions and training rapidly to get stronger, while (Name) was busy getting acquainted with Rengoku’s family. 

“What do you think’s going to happen now?” (Name) asked Kokushibo.

The demon didn’t answer, just scratching the box to inform he heard her. It has been a long time since they went on a thrilling mission and (Name) was honestly getting bored. She raised an eyebrow when she heard shouting coming from the entrance of the Butterfly estate.

“Let go of us! Please!” 

“Shut up, you guys are so annoying.”

“Please let go! We don’t want to go!”

(Name) turned the corner and in front of her was Uzui, with Aoi over his shoulder and Sumi under his arm. Kanao was in the back with Kiyo and Naho, looking extremely nervous. Upon seeing (Name), Kanao’s eyes lit up and she quickly hurried over to her, shyly tugging her arm. Tanjiro, who also heard the commotion, hurriedly walked over to see what was going on. 

“What’s wrong?” Tanjiro asked from behind, having just returned from his mission.

Kanao was sweating as she thought of how she needed to decide on her own actions. She looked up at (Name) with pleading eyes, and she tilted her head.

“P-please…” she muttered out.

“I see.” (Name) hummed back, making Kanao look at her with awed eyes.

“Oi, what are you doing, chicken legs?” 

Uzui froze when strong hands grabbed Aoi and Sumi, the two girls looking at (Name) with hopeful eyes. The sound Hashira slowly turned, his eyes meeting (Name). He would have flirted and complimented her, if not for the name she just called him.

“Chicken legs?! Who are you calling chicken legs, hot chick?!” he yelled at her.

“(Name)-san, he’s kidnapping them!”

“Please stop them!”

“Beat him up like how you beated Koku-kun up!”

“What are you doing to those girls?!” Tanjiro snapped, “get your arms off them!”

(Name) glared and she simply snatched Aoi and Sumi out of Uzui’s arms. Uzui flinched from how powerful her moves were, and Tanjiro appeared from behind to try and headbutt him. Tanjiro gasped when the man disappeared, and (Name) pointed to the top of a house that he landed on.
