Fardan proceeded with the award ceremony, saying, "I request all of you to maintain silence and come up on stage when your name is called."
Then, handing the mic over to Faiza, he moved aside. Rumaisa quickly grabbed another mic and stepped forward, handing it to Faiza. Faiza gestured for Fardan to come near the mic stand, while she stood behind him.
Faiza and Rumaisa started calling out names, "Aiman Fatima, BSc 1st year, topper of the class."
She came up on stage, received her medal, and left. They continued announcing the names of each class and semester, awarding medals and scholarships. While paying attention to qualities like Cleanliness, Boldness, Punctuality, and Intelligence, many more medals and awards were given. Almost 70% of the girls received awards.
Now, Faiza announced, "Rumaisa Amjad, Bsc 3rd year, Boldness And 3rd Topper of class." Rumaisa quickly went up, received her certificate and medal, and started posing for photos. Then, she returned to her place and quickly announced another name.
"Faiza Amani, BSc 3rd year, Constant Topper of class and 100% scholarship."
Fardan smiled at her and adorned her with a gold medal. She was very happy. After giving her the certificate, he instructed the photographer to take 4-5 extra photos. Faiza didn't understand why, but she stood there. Fardan took photos with a serious face with everyone, but with Faiza, he smiled a lot, which Ayesha and the principal noticed.
After taking the photos, he interacted with everyone, then went back to his seat. Now, Rumaisa began the anchoring. The show started, and they all began to perform a comedy drama about how a mobile phone and a mother's scolding can be compared.
"Mom, I have a terrible headache," one girl said.
The other girl, playing the role of the mother, teasingly replied, "Watch more, dear, the phone is reason of all your sickness...setting the phone on fire would relieve your headache."
Everyone burst into laughter as it was a true story in every other household. Faiza was nowhere to be seen. Fardan was only looking for her. He wasn't interested in anything else. Faiza was probably busy backstage. Suddenly, Rumaisa's voice caught Fardan's attention.
"Faiza Amani, Bsc 3rd year. Please give her a big round of applause."
In the dark, Faiza stood up, and suddenly the lights came on. And Faiza stepped forward. She was perhaps going to perform a skit. Fardan's full attention was on her.
"I am the daughter, forsaken by my father's heart,
Only Mother held me, never to depart.
Through lonely moments, life seemed bleak,
Until a friend embraced me, the solace I seek."
("Main wo beti hoon jisse baap ne thukraya hai,
Sirf Maa thi jisne seene se lagaya hai,
Tanha thi mai zindagi ke har pal mein,
Ek dost mili hai aaj kal jisne mujhe apnaya hai." )
She said loudly and then sat down. Suddenly, music started playing, and she began to dance.
"Bezubaan Kabse Main Raha, Begunah Sehta Mai Raha...(I've been silent for so long, I've endured without sin.....)."
There were tears in her eyes... she said again,
"One day I stood alone, weeping at my fate,
When a stranger met me at the lane's turning gate.
Who they were, I could not say, yet their signal was clear,
In an unknown way, they made me feel dear."
("Ek roz tanha khadi thi rote apne qismat pr,
Phir koi ajnabi mila gali ke uss mod pr,
Na jaane kon tha jo aisa ishara de gaya,
Apna sa laga anjaane me sahara de gaya.")
"Tujhe Sab Hai Pata..Hai Na Maa..(You know everything, right, Mother?)"
She was crying and dancing slowly, and her tears were not under control. Everyone was very emotional. Fardan was just looking at her non-stop. He felt like going on stage and stopping her tears. But he couldn't do that. She sat down crying and looking at everyone.
"The world around me troubles me every moment,
Only Mother stands by me in times of torment.
A true father’s love I’ve sought but found denied,
Yet my friend, steadfast, has always stood by my side."
("Duniya Aisi Hai Mere Aas Pass Jo Mujhe Har Pal Bahot Satati Hai,
Ek Maa Tu Hi Hai Jo Mushkil Waqt Mein Sahara De Jaati Hai,
Uss Sagge Baap Ne Bhi Thukraya Baar Baar Mujhe Aaj Tk,
Pr Dost Meri Ek Aisi Saggi Ke Hamesha Rishta Nibhati Hai." )
"Yaara Teri Yaari Ko Maine Sab Maana Hai...(My Friend, I've Accepted All Your Friendship.)"
"I love you a lot, my dearest Rumaisa." She said and finished her performance.
Rumaisa had tears in her eyes. She was very emotional because she didn't know she was so special to her friend. Forgetting about anchoring, she ran to hug her and started crying. Everyone was quite emotional. Faiza quickly wiped her and Rumaisa's tears, thanking everyone with a smile, and left.
After a few more performances, the event ended. Fardan had left after Faiza's performance as he kept getting calls repeatedly. Ayesha liked all the performances very much. She was quite happy. Everything went well, and as soon as the anchoring ended, Faiza left. She had to reach home quickly, so she hurried to the bus stop.
She was waiting at the bus stop for her bus when suddenly a car stopped in front of her. It was parked a bit to the side. The man inside rolled down the window and called out to Faiza, who was surprised to see Fardan.
"S...Sir! What are you doing here?" She said.
He got out of the car and gestured for her to get inside. She looked at him with surprise and said, "But, sir, how... and why should I sit in your car?"
"Faiza, I don't have time. Just get in quickly. I don't like to be disobeyed," he said, warning her.
Faiza didn't want to argue with her chairman because he was the one who enabled her to study for free. So, she complied and got into the car.
