Faiza sat in her room, her face veiled with a dupatta and the bed adorned with rose petals. Anxiety crept into Faiza's heart. She didn't know what Fardan was like or how her life would be with him, but she understood one thing: Ayesha would never leave her alone. Recalling her uncle and Ayesha's conversations, she wondered if Fardan truly loved her. She was just an ordinary girl, so why would Fardan fall in love with her? Fardan could have anyone, yet Faiza, an ordinary girl, why? Faiza had never seen a more handsome guy than Fardan, neither on TV nor in reality. It all still felt like a dream to her. Lost in her thoughts, Faiza suddenly snapped out of it at the sound of the door, quickly readjusting her veil and sitting straight.

As Fardan entered, he smiled upon seeing Faiza sitting on the bed. He was delighted that his love was finally before his eyes, now she belonged to him and him alone. With these thoughts in mind, he approached and sat beside Faiza. Faiza kept her eyes lowered, and Fardan kept looking at her.

After a while, Fardan passed a jewellery box to Faiza and said, Here's your munh dikhayi (a gift groom gives to his bride whenever he sees her face for the first time after marriage) you must be tired. Freshen up and go to sleep. I have some work to do."

"But..." Faiza attempted to speak but hesitated, quickly grabbing her gift from Fardan's hand and moving towards the cupboard.

"How strange he is... He didn't even look at my face before giving this gift to me. I don't know what will become of me. What kind of important work could he have on our wedding night? What could possibly be more important than me right now... I was foolish to consider giving this marriage a chance based on uncle's words, but he's not even willing to talk to me. I don't know what will become of me with this strange man!" Faiza started talking to herself, which Fardan couldn't understand, but he tried to gauge her emotions by looking at her lips, but failed.

"What's wrong, do you want to say something?" Fardan asked Faiza, standing behind her.

Faiza turned in surprise to look at Fardan, who was standing a little away from her. She shook her head slightly. Fardan came closer to her and took her hand in his, asking, "Why did you write my name here? Is there a special reason behind it, or did you not want to write my name?"

"No... um... there's nothing like that. My mother used to say that the vein of the left ring finger is directly connected to the heart, so I thought it would be right to write your name there. Because whenever my mother and I talked about my marriage, I used to tell her that I would write my husband's name there." Faiza said nervously.

A big smile appeared on Fardan's face. He was trying to hide his happiness but failed. Fardan took the gift from Faiza's hand and showed her a very lovely diamond set. Faiza had never seen a diamond in her entire life, so she was amazed to see the gift. Fardan showed her the set, asking, "Didn't you like my gift? Do you want something else?"

"No, it's not like that. I've never seen a diamond before, and since you're giving me this gift, I can't accept it." Faiza said nervously.

Fardan smiled and said, "In my opinion, this gift is not valuable at all."

Faiza replied softly, "You're very rich, so maybe you don't think it's valuable."

"And who told you I've never experienced poverty?" Fardan raised an eyebrow.

"Because you have a big business and a college, maybe it was your father's, which you're running now, so you've always been rich, right?" Faiza replied.

"You really don't know anything about me." Fardan said.

"But you did say that day that your father started this college." Faiza said in her defense.

"I didn't say business; I said college." Fardan reminded her.

"So do you own such a big business?" Faiza asked in surprise.

"Yes, I have reached this position through my hard work so that I never have to see those days again that I have seen." Fardan said thoughtfully.

"What days?" Faiza was curious.

"We'll talk about that later. Now, tell me about yourself... Why did you agree to this marriage?" Fardan changed the subject.

"Um... because my aunt..." Faiza was about to say but stopped herself because she didn't want to speak ill of her aunt to Fardan.

"What about your aunt? Did she force you into this?" Fardan asked, trying to suppress his anger.

"No, it's not like that. You didn't leave me with any other option besides marrying you!" Faiza said jokingly.

"But I only proposed once, and I never received an answer. Besides that, I just sent a proposal. I don't remember ever forcing you or coercing you into marriage." Fardan innocently said.

(As if he would've left her easily if she had rejected him)

Faiza remembered everything now. She said a little seriously, "Yes, if you hadn't sent the proposal, I would have been married to someone else by now."

"What do you mean?" Fardan asked.

"Nothing, just that sooner or later I had to get married, right? If you hadn't sent the proposal, I would have been married to someone else by now." Faiza tried to control herself.

Fardan knew everything that had happened to Faiza, but he wanted Faiza to tell him everything. He said sternly, "Faiza, you may not know, but I dislike unfinished business, and I don't like anyone hiding things from me, especially you! So, speak up clearly."

"No, I don't want to say anything. I just... by the way, I found out you met with uncle. You both had a conversation, which led to your agreeing to get my marriage done in just 2 days?" Faiza changed the subject.

"That's just my way of doing things. I'm good at convincing people. So, I convinced him." Fardan gave a strange answer to Faiza's question, which didn't make her happy.

"But what did you tell him?" Faiza asked again.

Looking at Faiza, Fardan said, "I just told him that I love Faiza more than my life. She is my first and last love." Expressing his love, Fardan's eyes had a different sparkle and moisture that Faiza had never seen in anyone's eyes for herself before.

"Love?" Faiza asked in surprise.

"Yes, love. My first love and, In Sha Allah (God willing), my last love." Fardan was saying with happiness.

"But you've only known me for a week. How can you be sure you love me?" Faiza still didn't believe in Fardan's love.

"Do you think I've only known you for a week? That's not true." Fardan smiled and said.

"What do you mean?" Faiza was shocked.

"Just what you heard. I've known you long before than a week." Fardan said mischievously.

"But I saw you for the first time just a week ago. How could I have met you before?" Faiza still didn't understand Fardan's words.

"It's a secret. I won't tell you," Fardan said to tease Faiza.

"But why? I want to know when you first met me," Faiza asked innocently.

"I'll tell you when the right time comes. I have some work to do now," Fardan said with a smile, then ignored Faiza and left the room. Faiza stood there, realizing how she opened up to him in a second, watching him leave.
