Kareem had taken Furqaan to another hospital to avoid a police case against him. When Furqaan and Ayesha were being taken away in the ambulance, Kareem ordered one of his men to hide the gun. However, that man only hid Furqaan's gun and left. As a result, the entire blame for the murder fell on Saif, and the police arrested him.

“So, tell us, Mr. Saif Sultaan, why did you shoot? What happened there?” an officer asked.

“I don't know,” Saif said after a long silence.

Saif was a lawyer, so he knew that if he said anything about his father’s crime, his father would get life imprisonment, and he didn’t want that. Therefore, he kept repeating the same thing, hoping the police would get tired and declare him guilty.

“Do you hate that girl so much that you shot her?” the officer questioned him again.

“Yes, I hate her a lot. I didn't want to see her alive, so I tried to kill her,” Saif said with a smile, but tears glistened in his eyes.

“Don’t try to mislead the police. Tell the truth about what happened,” the officer asked more sternly.

“I told you, I hated her, so I killed her. I hope my shot wasn't in vain and she died,” Saif smiled as he said this.

“Why do you hate her?” the officer ignored his words and asked again.

“I've confessed to the crime. I have nothing more to say,” Saif said seriously.

The officer left the room, knowing that Saif was a lawyer and would never say what they wanted to hear.

Saif was sitting quietly when another officer entered the room.

“Don't be afraid. I know you. You defended my son’s case and won it for us. I am very grateful to you. Think of me as a friend,” the officer smiled as he spoke.

The police had already pulled Saif’s records and discovered that he had lost his memory. They hoped to take advantage of this to trick him into revealing the truth, but what they didn’t know was that Saif had regained his memory.

Saif also started playing along with them.

“If you really want to thank me, I need to know what happened to that girl. Is she alive or dead?” Saif seized the opportunity to ask his question.

“She’s still in surgery. The doctors gave her a treatment of electric shock, and they say there's a 30% chance she might survive if they try harder. However, in very few cases does someone survive with such low chances. The doctors believe that if she had been brought in sooner, her chances would have been 70%, but with time, the odds are decreasing,” the officer replied sadly.

Saif remained silent. The officer asked, “Why do you want her to die?”

“Because I hate her,” Saif said.

“Why do you hate her?” the officer asked again.

“No matter how many times you ask, I won’t answer you. This is my personal matter,” Saif said firmly and turned his face away.

“Sir, he’s not giving any answers. I even tried showing sympathy, but he’s not opening his mouth,” the officer reported back, disappointed.

“Submit all the evidence we have against him to the court. His first hearing will be day after tomorrow,” their head officer ordered, and everyone left.

“Papa, you’re okay. Thank God,” Faiza said with relief as she looked at her father.
