Today was Fardan and Faiza's Valima(Reception), and the house was bustling with activity. Phuppa(Fardan's Uncle) and Adil were overseeing all the preparations, so they had been at the function hall since morning. Fardan had gone out for some work, while Faiza and Ayesha were busy preparing lunch.
Due to being late on the wedding day, Phuppi had forbidden them from going to the beauty parlour. Rumaisa was going to bring the beauticians to Ayesha's house shortly. The house was abuzz with everyone immersed in their tasks. When Rumaisa arrived, Faiza and Ayesha went upstairs to Ayesha's room to get ready.
"Ayesha, you have excellent taste," Rumaisa said, admiring the deep emerald Valima dress intricately worked with golden embroidery.
"Thank you. I wanted to choose everything with Faiza bhabi, but there was so little time that I had to do the shopping alone in a hurry," Ayesha said regretfully.
"Yes, the wedding was so sudden, it wasn't your fault," Rumaisa smiled.
"Bhabi, call me when your makeup is done. I'll be in your room," Ayesha said to Faiza, whose eyes were closed as the beautician was applying something. Faiza nodded in agreement.
"Ayesha, you can get ready here with this beautician. I'm done," Rumaisa said, getting up. Rumaisa was wearing a black and green gown. Her light, elegant makeup complemented her outfit perfectly, making her look stunning.
"No, I need to call my brother. He'll take some time to get here. I'll get ready after he arrives," Ayesha smiled and left.
Ayesha walked towards Fardan and Faiza's room, trying to call Fardan, but his phone was off. She started to worry. Fardan often went out for work without saying, but he never turned off his phone. Ayesha silently prayed for his safety while continuously calling him, but his phone remained off. She had called the company and all the people who usually accompanied Fardan, but no one knew his whereabouts.
Rumaisa chatted with Faiza, feeding her some fruits. The dress Ayesha had chosen for Faiza today was beautiful. Ayesha knew exactly which colors suited whom. Her fashion sense was exquisite and unique. Faiza's makeup was finished, and they were now setting her dupatta. Once Faiza was fully ready, she went to her room to call Ayesha. Rumaisa continued talking with the beauticians, and when Phuppi arrived, they started getting her ready too. Phuppi didn't like to wear much makeup, but today, due to Rumaisa's insistence, she agreed to do some light makeup.
As Faiza entered her room, she saw Ayesha sitting worriedly, fiddling with her phone. She sat beside her and asked, "What's wrong, Di? Is there a problem? Where is he? Hasn't he come yet?"
"I don't know, Faiza. I'm very worried. Bhai never keeps his phone off, but today it's been off for a long time. I don't know where he is!" Ayesha said, concerned, still looking at her phone.
"Di, don't worry... He'll come. You go and get ready quickly," Faiza reassured Ayesha.
"Finally! I've found out!" Ayesha exclaimed in relief, startling Faiza, who looked at her with questioning eyes.
"Adil bhai texted me that Bhai's phone broke when it fell, but he's perfectly fine. He had gone out for some work and should be back any moment," Ayesha said, smiling, making Faiza silently thank Allah.
"Bhabi, sit here. I'll go get ready now," Ayesha said, seating Faiza on the bed before heading to her room.
Faiza sat in the room, reflecting on how just a few days ago, she cursed her life every moment, and now she was happy to be with people like Ayesha and Phuppi, who cared for her deeply. Even though Fardan didn't talk much to her, he cared for her a lot. Hearing from Ayesha how worried he was when she fell ill made Faiza very happy, knowing that someone still cared for her. She was lost in thought when the door opened, and she felt Fardan's presence and began to look at him nervously. His presence made her anxious, but his absence troubled her even more. She couldn't understand her conflicting feelings towards him. She didn't even realize she had been staring at him for quite a while. Fardan's eyes were also fixed on Faiza. She looked incredibly beautiful today, and her beauty was driving Fardan crazy. Despite Fardan being extraordinarily handsome, he got lost in Faiza's simplicity. The green dress she wore suited her perfectly, and she looked stunning. Fardan couldn't take his eyes off her. When Faiza came out of her thoughts, she quickly looked down. Fardan smiled slightly at her reaction and sat beside her. Faiza noticed a small wound on his hand. Maybe he had hurt someone or broken something in anger. She hurriedly got up and fetched the first-aid box from the closet.
"What happened to your hand?" Faiza, forgetting all her fears and anxieties, asked as she cleaned his wound. She was only concerned about him now. Fardan didn't respond, and Faiza didn't ask again. She simply bandaged his hand and left the room. Fardan wanted to say something to stop her but remained silent.
Fardan went to take a shower, and when he came out, he saw Faiza sitting on the bed, waiting for him. Fardan quietly took his clothes and went to the study to change. Faiza didn't look at him once, lost in her thoughts. Fardan got ready and went to the mirror to fix his hair. Faiza, sitting on the bed, watched him. Fardan noticed her in the mirror and went to sit beside her. Faiza handed him a glass of milk with turmeric mixed in it, which she had brought.
"I wanted to apply turmeric to your wound, but I forgot, so I mixed it in the milk. I read that turmeric helps heal wounds quickly, so please drink this," Faiza said, drawing Fardan's attention back to her.
Fardan drank the milk without saying a word. Faiza noticed him and couldn't take her eyes off him. Fardan looked incredibly handsome in his black suit, matching Faiza's dress perfectly. His appearance was stunning, and Faiza thought that color suited him so well that it seemed made just for him. His hair was slightly messy, with a few strands falling on his face, still damp from the shower, making him look even more attractive. Faiza was mesmerized by his beauty and couldn't stop looking at him. She had no idea what Fardan was doing; she was just lost in him. Fardan felt the same way and couldn't stop looking at her. Whenever Fardan saw Faiza, he thanked God for giving him his beloved. This union was only possible because of Allah's will. If Allah hadn't put the idea of marrying him into Faiza's heart, he would never have been able to marry her. Fardan's love for Faiza was beyond her comprehension. They were lost in each other when a knock on the door drew their attention.
"Today's your Valima... you two can play this staring game after the event... guests are waiting for you," Adil said teasingly, with Rumaisa smiling behind him.
Adil's words made Faiza blush, and she quickly got up, taking Rumaisa with her to Ayesha's room. Fardan glared at Adil, making him bite his tongue. As soon as Faiza left, Fardan went back to fixing his hair.
