Did you know that Yakutsk, Siberia holds claim to the coldest city in the world title?
Want to know how you know that?
Because your fucking mission is here.
You ran across the thick ice, coated in a layer of snow that kept you from slipping, your lungs on fire, and the wind clouding your vision as a blizzard swirled around the city. Gunfire rained down on everyone, but knowing that was coming, everybody was prepared. They shot back, covering for you as you panted heavily, leaning your back against the side of the building.
You were trying to see around the corner when the slight crunch of snow under boots quickly drew your attention to your other side, and you whipped around to grab the gun, thrusting it up into their face and kneeing them in the groin. They crumpled to the ground and you shot them in the head with your pistol, silencer intact. You held it up near your face as you tried to round the corner again, blowing some hair out of your eyesight, and making sure it was clear before you got to the door.
You went through after overriding the bolted hunk of steel and shot the two guards dead when it opened, not even giving them enough time to draw their weapons. You threw the other Hydra agents gun off to the side, placing your earpiece in and asking for where you should go while scanning the corridors. They instructed you on which one and you broke into it, seeing there was one guard with a gun to a woman's head, and you cursed yourself for not feeling the room for pulses before you entered it.
"Hey, hey," You spoke calmly, unsure if they knew English, and slowly lowered your gun to the floor, "She's got nothin' to do with this, take me, alright? Me for the girl."
He seemed to understand you enough to turn the gun on you, pushing her away.
"Go. Run," You told her, keeping your eyes on him or rather, the barrel, "Alright? Just us."
"Just us." He sneered, holding the gun in both hands as you approached.
"We've got the place surrounded," You kept your voice low, not trying to startle him, and he was visibly sweating, but it obviously wasn't from the heat, "But I can get you outta here."
The earpiece you wore had a bunch of voices going over the channel, panicking because you had been stopped. There was a bomb about to blow this place to hell and you were running low on time. Your eyes flickered to the system that you surmised you'd need at least a minute to break into and then back to him. He was clearly nervous, trying to decide what to do, and then someone came into the room. You turned around to check who it was, and the man took the opportunity to grab you from behind, keeping the barrel to your temple.
You narrowed your eyes at Steve, the blonde who just couldn't give up, and then gestured to the man behind you.
"Rogers, meet this dude," You smirked unsteadily, trying to keep cool, "Dude, meet Rogers."
He yelled something in a language you didn't understand, sounded French, but Steve definitely knew what he meant because his face fell, filling with fear. The man cocked the gun, pressing it further into your skin, and you raised your hands.Steve nodded ever so slightly, giving you the signal because he didn't have another way out of this, and you pressed your hand to the guy's bare arm. You pulled it down enough to get him off slightly, but your powers didn't work quick enough to stop him, and the gun went off.
Steve ran over and you blinked slowly a few times, falling to the floor. Your vision was blurry, and your hearing was out, a blaring noise the only thing you could process, giving you a massive headache. You picked up your gun that had been left on the floor and took a deep breath before unloading it into the guy who then turned his gun on Steve. He went down, shooting the ceiling twice on his way, and Steve scooped you up bridle style, rushing out of the room.
