"How did I get so lucky?"

You laughed, finding it ridiculous, and then bit his shoulder playfully before kissing the same spot when he pretended it hurt.

The two of you were lying in bed, somehow making it back here after the whole thing on the roof, for round three and there was barely a sheet covering the both of you. His arm was around you protectively and you snuggled impossibly deeper into his side, no longer cold, but loving the feeling of being close to him. You didn't take any of it for granted, memorizing each detail of how he looked, felt, and even the sound of his voice was being etched into your brain.

"I must fall for people who can take a bullet from me and live."

You smirked before your face fell when you realized what you said, but he didn't notice since you weren't looking in his direction with the position you were in.

"'People' as in not just guys or...?"

"Oh, yeah," You laughed in relief, happy he didn't take it as an invitation to ask about your past relationships or flings because you really couldn't call them relationships at this point, "Not just guys."

"You keep surprising me, L/n," He chuckled, kissing your forehead, "Never a dull moment."

You couldn't help but to check the time on the clock that sat atop his nightstand and you internally groaned, knowing you should get ready soon. But you couldn't bring yourself to break the trance of the two of you living in your own world, all the criminals and threats millions of galaxies away. Which of course, wasn't true at all, they were about thirty blocks from here getting ready to drink and laugh the night away.

But that's for the next chapter.

"I'm gonna be super cheesy, so prepare yourself," You sighed, and he peered down at you with a soft smile, "But I think out of every place in the world I've been...right here," You looked around and then back up to him, "Is my absolute favorite."

"New York does have the best pizza."

"Shut up," You laughed, swatting his chest, "And Paris has the best wine, so they make a good pair, I'd say."

"Never got to enjoy Paris," He thought out loud, "We were always on a mission if we ever passed through."

"We should go sometime," You drew circles across his middle, "Just the two of us."

"That sounds amazing, doll."

You leaned up to kiss him, taking it slow and relishing in every movement he made against you. The way his hands came up to hold you there, never wanting to let go, and how he knew exactly what you loved. You sighed into the kiss and he smiled, but then you broke it, bumping your forehead against his. He opened his eyes slowly and found yours staring back, noticing they were shiny.

"Baby," He whispered, "What is it?"

"Nothing," You shook your head a bit, never leaving his touch, and blinked once slowly before adding, "I just love you so much."

He squeezed his eyes shut, the emotion pouring out of your words and actions overwhelming him, and he couldn't muster his own words out, they were stuck in his throat, so he just lunged forward and smashed his lips against yours in a bruising kiss.

You moved to be on top of him, straddling his lap, and he held your hips as you nuzzled your face into his neck. The two of you moved together like you have a hundred times before, but this one was the least rushed. It felt as if it was dragged out on purpose, not knowing the next time you would feel this way, this connected, and wanting to make it last as long as possible.
