The next day at school, Kaiya was nowhere to be found. Keisuke had tried to call her the previous night and sent her a few messages to check on her well-being. He had noticed she wasn't feeling well and had left in a hurry to get home. His concern was growing, but he brushed it off, thinking she might just need more sleep. It was unusual for Kaiya to be late or miss a school day, but not impossible.

Ryusei lazily entered the classroom where Keisuke was already seated with Chifuyu, who was helping him with writing kanjis. Ryusei looked around, expecting to see Kaiya chatting with some of her classmates, but she was nowhere to be seen. The girls in her class turned their heads to Ryusei, some whispering and smiling, others waving sweetly. He waved back and sauntered over to his friends.

The classroom was bustling with morning energy, students chatting and laughing, but Ryusei's entrance drew attention like a magnet. His confident stride and easy grin made him a favorite among the girls, who always seemed eager for his attention. He navigated through the desks with casual grace, his eyes scanning the room for Kaiya.

- "Oi, where is my sweet Kaiya? I think I have a wound that needs to be attended," Ryusei said with a grin, dropping into a chair next to Keisuke and Chifuyu. He watched Keisuke closely, hoping for a reaction to his playful claim. There was a faint hint of annoyance in Keisuke's eyes, but mostly he seemed concerned, his brow furrowed in thought.

- "Probably home," Chifuyu shrugged, glancing at Keisuke for confirmation.

- "Is she okay? Have you talked with her?" Ryusei asked, his tone shifting from playful to genuinely concerned. "Last night when I kissed her little smooth hand, it seemed hotter than usual."

- "She had a fever. Probably she is home resting," Keisuke answered, his voice tinged with worry. He tapped his pencil against his notebook, a rare sign of his anxiety.

- "But you don't know for sure," Ryusei concluded, leaning back in his chair. "Okay, okay, fine, fine. If the captain won't take care of his division members, then the vice-captain will have to do it," he said theatrically, standing up with a flourish and leaving the classroom.

The classroom seemed to hold its breath for a moment after Ryusei's departure, the usual morning chatter resuming slowly. Keisuke turned back to his writing, though his focus was clearly divided, his eyes occasionally drifting to the door. Chifuyu, sensing the tension, looked thoughtful.

- "I'm going to follow him," Chifuyu said suddenly, breaking the silence between them.

- "Don't waste your time," he muttered, returning to his kanjis with renewed determination.

Chifuyu nodded, but his mind was made up. As he left the classroom, he couldn't shake the feeling that something was seriously wrong. Kaiya's absence was like a dark cloud hanging over them, and he was determined to find out what was going on. And also he wanted to see what is the matter with Ryusei.

Seeing that hours had passed without any news from Kaiya, Keisuke's worry grew into a gnawing anxiety. He decided to call his mother, asking her to contact Kaiya's mother and check on her well-being. His mother, sensing his distress, agreed without hesitation. She had kept Kaiya's mother's phone number for years, knowing how often their kids spent time together. It had always seemed prudent to have a means of contact in case anything happened.

Keisuke paced back and forth, his eyes glued to his phone, willing it to ring. The moment the screen lit up, displaying his mother's contact, he snatched it up and answered immediately.

- "Is she okay? Where is she?" he asked, his voice taut with worry and frustration.

His mother sighed on the other end of the line.
