On August 31st, one week after the contest, the new Tokyo Manji gang gathered at the Musashi Shrine. The shrine's ancient walls stood silent witness as the members assembled, the air thick with anticipation and resolve. Takemichi and Chifuyu stood on the stone steps, the same place where Mikey and Draken had once stood during the glory days of the original Tokyo Manji. The weight of history pressed down on them as they looked out over their comrades.
The divisions were lined up, each with its captains and vice-captains. Nahoya Kawata, the ever-grinning "Smiley," led the 4th Division, with his brother Souya "Angry" Kawata at his side as vice-captain. The 3rd Division was captained by Haruki "Pah-chin" Hayashida, with Ryohei Hayashi as his vice-captain. Seishu Inui stood tall as the captain of the 1st Division, backed by familiar faces: Atsushi Sendo, Kazushi Yamagishi, Takuya Yamamoto, and Makoto Suzuki. Takashi Mitsuya commanded the 2nd Division, with Hakkai Shiba as his loyal vice-captain. Senju Kawaragi led the 5th Division, her presence regal and fierce. Kaiya Hanemiya, with her calm, dark gaze, was the captain of the 6th Division, flanked by her vice-captain Tenshi Tsuguru and members Mamoru Sarou, Iyashi Musahi, Suto Taro, Tsurugi Daizo, and five other trusted allies: Daisuke, Renji, Takumi, Kaito, and Masaru.
Chifuyu, acting as the vice-president of the newly formed gang, stood beside Takemichi, who had been elected as their president. The scene mirrored an older era, but the stakes were even higher now.
- "The 2nd generation of Tokyo Manji kickoff meeting begins now!" Chifuyu shouted, his voice echoing through the shrine grounds. The group stood at attention, listening to their leaders.
Takemichi stepped forward, his heart pounding as he prepared to address the group. His eyes scanned the familiar faces, the weight of responsibility heavy on his shoulders. He took a deep breath and began.
- "First off, I want to apologize to everyone." He bowed deeply, his voice filled with remorse. "I'm sorry for getting you all involved."
The words hung in the air, and for a moment, there was only silence.
- "I lost to Mikey-kun in the battle of the three deities. I was in despair, but I stand before you now because I realized something in that battle. Mikey-kun... he's a different person now. We can no longer bring back the old Mikey-kun. But I want to beat him! We're about to go crush Kanto Manji!" His voice grew stronger, filled with determination as he straightened his back, clenching his fists. "I will absolutely win! I won't let this end with us defeated. So, all of you, let's take back what we've given up! This isn't just for me. This is our revenge. On the 9th of September, at the old Wangan freight yard."
There was a fierce silence after Takemichi's declaration, but then Kaiya's calm voice cut through.
- "I volunteer to be the one to deliver the news." She raised her hand, her yellow eyes sharp and unwavering.
All eyes turned to her, the air thickening with tension. Suto, one of her loyal subordinates, stepped forward in protest.
- "Boss, that's dangerous!"
Kaiya's gaze remained steady, her voice soft but filled with determination.
- "That's why I'll do it."
Chifuyu looked hesitant, his concern clear.
- "Kaiya..."
Kaiya's eyes locked onto Takemichi, her voice steady and unyielding.
- "Mikey won't kill me, right?" She asked, her words heavy with unspoken history.
Takemichi's heart skipped a beat, worry flickering in his chest. He nodded, though he couldn't hide the slight hesitation in his expression.
