Kayia stood on the balcony with Ryoko, Keisuke's mother, enjoying the fresh air and the warmth of the afternoon sun. She was animatedly recounting the story of how her life had transformed, her eyes sparkling with excitement. Ryoko listened intently, a cigarette in hand, a gentle smile playing on her lips as she shared in the young girl's joy. The air was filled with a sense of calm and contentment, and Kayia felt a deep connection with Ryoko, who had become like a second mother to her.
Keisuke had invited Kayia over to his place, but she had finished school earlier than him that day. By the time he arrived with Chifuyu, she was already there, waiting for him. From her vantage point on the balcony, she watched as the two of them approached, her heart fluttering with joy to see them again. She waved enthusiastically, her eyes reflecting her happiness.
Kayia had expected to spend the afternoon with just herself, Keisuke, and possibly his mother. She was surprised to see Chifuyu also entering the apartment with Keisuke. Noticing the confused look on her face, Keisuke placed his uninjured arm around her shoulders and gently explained:
- "Chifuyu is here to help my mother redecorate her room."
He then turned to Chifuyu with a grateful smile and added:
- "Obviously, I can't do that with my arm like this, so you're really saving me here." Chifuyu nodded, smiling back, feeling a mix of pride and responsibility.
Ryoko wanted to redecorate her room according to Feng Shui principles, and she was reading from a book to guide her. She frequently consulted Kayia to ensure she understood the instructions correctly before directing the boys. While Ryoko and Kayia moved the lighter pieces of furniture together, Chifuyu handled the heavy lifting without complaint, glad to help his friend despite growing tired. Kayia could see the determination in his eyes and admired his dedication.
At one point, Keisuke discovered his manga collection in his mother's room.
- "AHH!! Mom! I thought all my manga was gone. Why are they here?" he exclaimed, inspecting the pile of books, his face a mix of surprise and delight.
- "I'll take them!" Chifuyu announced happily, his eyes lighting up.
- "I'm still reading them!" Ryoko protested, her tone playful.
After several more minutes of rearranging the furniture, Chifuyu felt a sense of accomplishment for finishing the task. But then Ryoko, looking slightly embarrassed, whispered to Kayia, holding the Feng Shui book in her hands.
- "Kayia, come here. This is wrong, isn't it?" she asked, her voice tinged with uncertainty and a hint of frustration.
Kayia glanced at the book, then at the newly arranged room, and nodded. She realized Chifuyu would have to redo the heavy lifting and felt a bit sorry for him, but she knew that even if she offered to help, none would accept this. Ryoko would rather do it herself than let Kayia do it.
- "Oh, I'm sorry, this is wrong," Ryoko admitted, her face showing genuine regret. "I was looking at the wrong page. This isn't going to bring me good fortune."
Keisuke, clearly frustrated, burst out:
- "What the hell are you doing?! Are you kidding me? Come on, man, this is enough!" His voice was filled with exasperation.
- "This is not good! My lack of fortune caused you to break your arm!" Ryoko yelled back, her voice rising with concern and guilt.
- "I don't care! This has nothing to do with it!" Keisuke shouted, his temper flaring, his frustration evident in his voice.
Chifuyu, panicking at the escalating tension, stepped in to calm them down.
- "Don't worry! I'll do it!" he said, determined to help, his voice firm yet reassuring.
