Kazutora's voice was low, filled with both regret and a simmering determination.
- "He doesn't even trust his friends anymore," he said, the weight of his words hanging in the air. His gaze flickered toward his sister, a shadow of fear crossing his features. The thought of Mikey potentially hurting her in the future made his chest tighten. He paused, his throat dry before continuing. "He's not a delinquent anymore." There was a brief silence, as if Kazutora needed to gather himself before speaking again. "Mikey's gone completely evil. I'm one of the people who made him change. But, no matter how much I hate to admit it, Mikey right now is dangerous. Really dangerous. And I can't just sit back and watch him destroy himself." His hands clenched into fists, knuckles white. "I want to talk to him. Face-to-face. Tell him he's gotta get away from those guys."
Takemichi, still processing everything, furrowed his brows.
- "Which guys?" he asked quietly.
Kazutora's eyes narrowed with a hardened resolve.
- "Kisaki's violence. The money from the Black Dragons. If we don't stop those two things, Mikey will never come back from this. He's too far gone. Help me, Takemichi. This time, I want to save Mikey. I want to save Manjiro Sano."
As his voice faded, Kaiya stood quietly, lost in thought. Kazutora's determination to save Mikey was clear, but deep inside, she had her doubts. She understood her brother's desire to pull Mikey away from Kisaki's poisonous influence and the grip of the guys from the Black Dragons, but would it really change anything? The Mikey she had seen in recent years wasn't the same boy who lead Toman. The darkness in his eyes ran deep.
She hadn't told them, but she still saw Mikey—on nights when he would find her, seeking solace in her presence. He was always quiet, distant. He would lay his head against her chest, and she would gently run her fingers through his hair, trying to comfort him in those fragile moments. For brief moments, she thought she could reach him, that perhaps the old Mikey was still there, buried beneath layers of pain and darkness. But every time she tried to talk about Toman, about changing things, his demeanor shifted. The warmth in his eyes would fade, replaced by an emptiness that chilled her. He would get up without a word and leave, shutting her out.
Kaiya knew that no matter how much they tried to pull Mikey away from Kisaki and the Black Dragons, he had to want it for himself. And right now, it seemed like he had no intention of going back to the boy they all once knew.
Kazutora's expression darkened as he continued, his voice heavy with regret.
- "Mikey's left arm—the ex-Black Dragons," he said, his tone deliberate and somber. "My connection with them goes way back. They're the 11th generation of the Black Dragons, the biker gang I fought before Toman even existed." His gaze briefly shifted toward Kaiya, who sat silently, her eyes clouded with the weight of those memories. She could still recall how she'd tended to Kazutora's wounds, cleaning blood from his skin, and how Keisuke had often been the only person she could turn to for help. The thought brought a pang of sorrow to her heart.
- "They do everything for money," Kazutora continued, his voice hardening. "Shake-downs, murders—nothing's off-limits. The vast amount of cash they've made is one of the things that drove Mikey off the deep end." He paused, his eyes narrowing with determination. "I used my connections to find their hidden accounts. My plan is simple—cut off the cash flow, and this will end. But there's more... Chifuyu was supposed to deal with Kisaki. He tried, but Kisaki killed him because he got too close, backed him into a corner."
Takemichi's eyes widened, the weight of Chifuyu's sacrifice suddenly crashing down on him.
- "How did he even manage to corner someone like Kisaki?"
