Chu Zhichen only managed to sleep for two hours before waking up and stretching. The hand on his shoulder slipped off, and Xiang Mingzhang also woke up.

Their tired eyes met as they took in the gray and black sky outside the window. Xiang Mingzhang suggested, "The alarm clock hasn't gone off yet, let's sleep a little longer."

Feeling the dryness in the corners of his eyes, Chu Zhichen rubbed them and replied, "Go ahead and sleep. I don't feel sleepy anymore."

Xiang Mingzhang, too, had lost his sleepiness. "I dreamt that I went on a business trip to Zhejiang, but I didn't take you with me," he shared.

"Zhejiang?" Chu Zhichen responded with determination, focusing on the second half of the sentence. "It's better if you didn't take me along. If you continue dreaming about me, you would be too cruel."

Curious, Xiang Mingzhang asked, "Did you have a dream then?"

Chu Zhichen propped himself up, brushing the hair hanging over his forehead with his hand. He replied with nonsense, "I dreamt about Director Peng, probably because I miss him too much."

Xiang Mingzhang frowned in confusion. "What?"

Chu Zhichen rolled over and got out of bed, smiling. "I'm eager to hand over everything to him, aren't I?"

The two of them freshened up and made their way back to the sales department on the ninth floor. Chu Zhichen polished and printed the overnight report, highlighting the key points.

Peng Xin arrived early and was delighted to learn that the report was complete. He immediately went to the secretary's room to hear Chu Zhichen's explanation.

This detailed report would serve as a stepping stone, and Peng Xin exclaimed enthusiastically, "We can't wait any longer. Hu Xiushan's office has numerous checkpoints. I'll contact him today."

Chu Zhichen acknowledged, "It depends on you, Director Peng, whether you can successfully secure the appointment."

"No, it depends on the report," Peng Xin responded. "Secretary Chu, thanks to your help, I have confidence in achieving it."

An elated Chu Zhichen said, "Alright, please keep me updated if there's any news."

The commotion settled for a moment, allowing Chu Zhichen to catch his breath. Concerned about his night-long work, his family sent a driver to pick him up. He watered the gladiolus and locked up before leaving.

Just as Chu Zhichen stepped out, Xiang Mingzhang emerged from his office, now dressed in a different suit that exuded elegance, as if he had a date.

Casually, Chu Zhichen inquired, "Mr. Xiang, aren't you going home to rest?"

Walking beside him, Xiang Mingzhang replied, "I have an appointment for morning tea with an elder."

Chu Zhichen silently acknowledged that the elder was a member of the Xiang family, possibly even Director Xiang Yue. He didn't probe further, and they parted ways in the bustling morning rush at the lobby.

When he returned home, Mrs. Chu couldn't help but feel concerned. She had Sister Xiu prepare nourishing soup and arranged for Chu Zhichen to get a massage.

All Chu Zhichen wanted was a hot bath, so after sipping the soup, he headed upstairs. Aunt Tang had already filled the bathtub, adding a few drops of soothing essential oils that smelled pleasant, even if he didn't fully understand their purpose.

He soaked in the hot water until it turned cold, then donned a nightgown and towel-dried his hair halfway. He hesitated with the hairdryer, briefly attempting to use it before giving up.
