After engaging in a discussion, Lawyer Lei departed first, and Mrs. Chu needed to leave to fulfill with Xiang Mingzhang for lunch.

Since the soup needed some time to simmer, Chu Zhichen led Xiang Mingzhang up to the second floor.

Throughout their journey, the two veered off topic multiple times before finally confirming their relationship. They indulged in absurdities after drinking together in the office, shared a bed in Harbin, and engaged in intimate moments fueled by their ambiguous desires.

Once united, Chu Zhichen spent several days in Manzhuang and several nights in Bomanjia's apartment. He accompanied Xiang Mingzhang to all of his various locations during their trip to Shenzhen.

Within the Chu household, he fulfilled his duty. Xiang Mingzhang visited Chu Zhichen's bedroom for the first time, publicly solidifying their relationship today.

The room exuded a tidy and elegant aura, though due to it being a guest room, the lighting was somewhat dim. The black Steinway piano standing against the wall was almost concealed by the shadows.

Xiang Mingzhang lifted the piano cover, tapped a few keys, and inquired, "Where is the pipa I gifted you?"

Chu Zhichen replied, "I have kept it well in the cabinet. I take it out regularly to clean. Would you like to see it?"

"What purpose would there be in inspecting a pipa?" Xiang Mingzhang glanced around, casually sitting down on the bedside.

He delved his hands between the pillows, his fingers brushing against the soft cotton fabric. He felt around for a moment, but all he could find was a collection of essays that Chu Zhichen had read before going to sleep.

Curious, Chu Zhichen asked, "What are you searching for?"

Xiang Mingzhang responded, "Just seeing if you have any little secrets."

Chu Zhichen positioned himself next to the cabinet. The largest drawer was locked, but with the insertion of a key, it was opened. Inside were seven or eight boxes of cigars neatly arranged.

He had never smoked in front of his family, preferring to savor each cigarette on the balcony, allowing the smoke to dissipate into the air.

As Xiang Mingzhang approached, he couldn't forget the image of Chu Zhichen enjoying a cigar. The hand, the lips, and the smoke-covered face created a captivating sight.

Chu Zhichen also recalled how Xiang Mingzhang had kissed him, tasting the cigar. It left him choking, but he didn't hesitate to endure some discomfort in order to experience that moment of pleasure.

He inquired, "Do you find it enjoyable?"

Xiang Mingzhang answered, "I've forgotten."

The cigars in the drawer ranged from light to full-bodied. Chu Zhichen suggested, "Choose a box and I'll give it to you."

Uncertain of what to select, Xiang Mingzhang requested, "One is sufficient. You can choose for me."

Chu Zhichen pondered over his confession to his family. It unexpectedly didn't seem too difficult. When he articulated his feelings, it felt akin to being enveloped in swirling smoke. It didn't cause pain, but rather inspired a desire to retreat.

He picked a medium-flavored cigar called "Romeo and Juliet," lit it with a lighter, and placed it in a portable cowhide cigarette case.

Xiang Mingzhang remarked, "You mentioned that you smoke one when you feel unhappy. Does it provide solace?"

Chu Zhichen replied, "You can try it whenever you're feeling down."

Xiang Mingzhang stored away the cigarette case, stating, "A single man can only rely on tobacco and alcohol. I want you to provide comfort for me."
