The news of the bidding meeting quickly spread, prompting team members to flock back to the court. The long aisles in the office were teeming with people, including colleagues from the sales department, pre-sales consulting department, and colleagues from all four floors, coming to greet them.

Xiang Mingzhang and Chu Zhichen walked side by side at the forefront. Upon seeing this scene, Xiang Mingzhang paused and whispered, "Xiang Rugang's wedding and red carpet events were not even this grand."

Chu Zhichen retorted, "What nonsense are you spouting?"

Xiang Mingzhang responded, "I almost thought we were throwing a flower parade."

Chu Zhichen raised his hand to nudge Xiang Mingzhang's back but quickly retracted when he realized Xiang Ruxu was following closely behind. The unsuccessful speech on stage left him feeling bewildered amidst the celebration.

Xiang Mingzhang, being the president, knew how to maintain composure at all times and pretended to be unfazed.

He calmly stated, "Today's bidding went relatively smoothly, but we'll have to wait for the results of the bidding evaluation. I urge everyone to remain calm."

Peng Xin waved his hand in agreement, adding, "It's the end of the year, and there's still a lot to do with other projects. Let's all continue to persevere!"

Chu Zhichen remained silent. Someone handed him a box of yogurt, which was soon followed by a pack of cookies. With his arms full of afternoon snacks, he returned to his office.

Having missed lunch, Chu Zhichen pulled out his chair and sat down just as Peng Xin knocked on the door and entered. He said, "Secretary Chu, don't indulge in snacks. How about joining us for a big meal tonight?"

Chu Zhichen happily replied, "Director Peng, your attitude outside was quite different just now."

"I'm being kind and assertive," Peng Xin responded with a smile. "Will you be attending? I can ask Mr. Xiang if he would like to join as well."

Chu Zhichen had a sore throat from practicing for the bid and said, "I'm not going. I want to go home early and rest."

Knowing Chu Zhichen's character, Peng Xin didn't push the matter. He had initially planned to ask Xiang Mingzhang, but now he also abandoned the idea.

Although he didn't understand why, he had a feeling that if Chu Zhichen wasn't attending, neither would Xiang Mingzhang.

"Alright then," Peng Xin said before leaving. "By the way, let me congratulate you in advance."

Chu Zhichen was puzzled. Peng Xin had already congratulated him when the bidding was over. If it meant the project was successful, then it should be congratulations all around, not just to him.

Hurrying out, Peng Xin left Chu Zhichen pondering in confusion. He decided not to dwell on it and absentmindedly peeled off the straw wrapper before inserting it into the yogurt bottle.

The auditorium hadn't left much of an impression on him. Each company presented their bids in order, with breaks interspersed throughout the day. The long day swiftly came to an end.

The bidding would last for three days, with four companies participating each day. After all the bidding was completed, there would be at least a week of official evaluation and review before the results would be announced.

Regardless of the outcome, personnel matters were now settled, and they could finally take a breather. Chu Zhichen took a sip of yogurt, frowned at the words "sugar free" on the label, and sighed.

He couldn't understand why, during the war when supplies were scarce, people made do with what they had. And now, with resources abundant, they hesitated to add a little sugar to make things more enjoyable.
